A cracking traditional pub in the heart of the city. Having frequented The Strawberry many times before moving away from Newcastle, I always feel at home when the opportunity arises for a visit. The staff are always friendly and there will always be something to keep you entertained whether this be televised football, NUFC memorabilia or the local Geordie banter! Comprehensive selection of beers, lagers and wines and a great menu at affordable prices. Would definitely recommend, I for one can't wait for my next visit!

going to the 'berry pub prior to kick off is something that must be done by any NUFC fan!The location is central to the town centre, with the pub itself sitting on the doorstep of heaven itself! (St James Park to the untrained eye) Once inside, the pub retains character of a quintessentially English pub yet oozes so much football through the media of pictures and souvenirs through the ages. Upstairs, the roof top balcony provides sumptuous views of St James Park and allows any devoted fan to soak in a beer whilst admiring the view. Having travelled to many football grounds there is yet to be another pub that can champion the 'berrys uniqueness. Staff are delightful and given the business did not seem agitated or stressed by it and seemed to take the chaos of matchday in their stride! I would recommend a visit for anyone coming to Newcastle, whether you like football or not, it's definitely one of the city gems.

After a manic trek around town before it shut I was well in needed of a beer and a burger, I was parked in Eldon Garden so thought I would pop along to the Strawberry. I was over the moon to see they had a deal on were you got a beer and a burger for a fiver.. Result! I ordered my burger and asked about the real ales as there was a few to choose from. I asked for a light beer and was talked through a couple and ended up with a lovely pint of 'Rivet Catcher'. I took a seat near one of the big tele's and watched a bit of the footy. Ten minutes later I got my burger and chips, canny portion and tasted great. I felt like I was in a proper pub not one of these pop up pubs which seem to be ten to a penny these days. If I did'nt have the car I would of stayed for another, nice relaxing place with quality staff. Defo give it a shout if your in the area.

Lovely pub, friendly atmosphere with even friendlier staff. Good for families as kids are welcome. Fab selection of food, from big meals to small at great value and good portions. Fab selection of drinks! Would defo recommend this place.

There are no plastic palm trees, the only polished chrome is in the netties, the only architectural glass fittings are the windows and the place sells drinks - just like it ought to ....... The football memorabilia adorning the walls is sufficiently interesting to engage the non footballista and the food is unfussy, well priced proper pub food.In a city that is awash with chain pubs, themed bars and licensed entertainment complexes, The Strawberry is a comfortable and refreshingly honest pub with friendly welcoming staff. Not just for match days !

I've been there for 10 years each time I'm going to the Toon. Great pub and great place. The staff is really good and the owners are fantastic. The place to be for genuine football fan and of course a must if you support Newcastle United. Nothing can match the atmosphere on match day.You can find a large choice of good food and good ales. The location is just perfect, you just have to cross the street to reach St-James park. It's really a friendly place to go and everybody will welcome you there.

great bar with friendly staff which epitomises everything Newcastle, its literally got everything you could want from a bar - beautiful terrace with iconic views of the stadium - traditional pub food at a reasonable price and enough NUFC memorabilia to be granted museum status. Friendly staff and regulars make sure that whether you're out for the match, lazing in the beautiful north east sun or just out for the crack you're guaranteed to have a great night/day/early morning!

A cracking pub, very friendly staff as well as locals, within touching distance of st james park and the city center. Superb selection of draught beers from home and abroad as well as a great selection of bottled beers, great offers on spirits and wine too. Food menu is just what you want, good variety and at a great price, very generous portions. All in all, its a great venue, sports pub, family pub all rolled into one. Has a Gem of an upstairs terrace too which is great to sit on in decent weather.

After many a year searching for the ultimate sausage, wor lass has found what she's been looking for right on her doorstep ! A prime thick meaty ring of sausage that she describes as a delight. The Cumberland sausage is indeed a meaty treat for the wife and as they say 'if she's happy, I'm happy. Well done The Strawberry. We'll be back for the jumbo hotdog soon. 'Double Sausage Delight'

This is one of the most iconic pubs in Newcastle, we visit the Strawberry every week, It the most welcoming and friendliest pub I know in the town, the food is excellent and the beer is excellent too. We often stand on the terrace upstairs which gives nice views of the city. St James's Park sits directly opposite. Obviously the best stadium in the country. So if you are visiting Newcastle come and visit the Strawberry and enjoy the warm atmosphere and great food it has to offer. You won't be disappointed.

This is one of the most iconic pubs in Newcastle and lives up to i's reputation with a warm welcome and a fantastic selection of beers. We particularly enjoy visiting on sunny afternoons to sit outside on the upstairs terrace and enjoy the view over the city.If you are a football fan then this is the place to be on match days with the Newcastle stadium less than 50m from the front door.First class pub with a great atmosphere... we will be back!
