We have visited here on at least a dozen occasions and Wood green is one of the most cleanest animal charity centres we have ever seen.Showered with extremely dedicated staff,some i believe are volunteers who are there purely for their love of the animals,a great little cafe as well as a souvenir shop too.A quality animal centre.

It's so lovely visiting Wood Green even if you are not planning to get yourself a pet. Whenever we go up there I always spend a lot of the time looking at the dogs. You can see that they are being looked after well. I think the small cat huts look quite small inside but i suppose they don't need a lot of room to sleep and they have quite a large area outside. I also think it's really nice to you can take a dog for a walk if you are interested in getting one. It's a good idea as you can see what the dog is like. Previous family members have got dogs from there. They give you a really good description of what the dog is like. All in all it's a great charity :)

This is such a wonderful place- the staff/volunteers were lovely and chatted to you. It's incredible to see so many gorgeous animals in really excellent conditions and care, the rabbits had such fantastic homes and was wonderful to sit and watch them munching away. The thrift shop was great, and was wonderful to support the rescue. I'll be back, especially when I want to add a new animal addition to my home, I can't wait to adopt a lap cat.

Having recently been looking to rehome a cat, I visited the Heydon Centre of Wood Green, The Animals Charity. All the staff were very welcoming and knowledgable and it was clear they were all passionate about their work. The level of animal welfare was very high, with all the cats having their own individual units and their personal home comforts. I would certainly recommend this charity and centre to anyone who was looking at taking on a new pet, they also have rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens available for rehoming.

I have visited Wood Green at Godmanchester on several occasions and there is always something to do and see with the kids. The centre is a venue for various different events and even when there is nothing on it is a great place to visit to see some of the animals, have a picnic or something to eat in the restaurant. I also like to visit the Charity Shop onsite for some bargains as well as the Pet & Gift Shop to buy my dog food and treats from. There is plenty of parking areas and the car parking is free.

Wood Green The Animals Charity have 4 centres but this review is for the head quarters in Godmanchester, Cambs. The site is set over 52 acres rehoming dogs, cats, small animals and some field animals such as goats and chickens. Disbaled access is great and well catered for as well as baby changing facilities.There is plenty of free parking with a café, gift and pet supplies shop, thrift shop, play park and a lake to sit by and have a picnic if the weather is nice. There is also a Learning Centre which regularly hosts events such as behind the scenes family tours and Animal Carer experience days for both adults and children.They have a large restaurant which hosts regular evening entertainment such as party nights, comedy evenings and can hold private events such as weddings too. There is a show size arena that has craft fairs and animal shows so take a look at the events page on their website, there always seems to be something going on.Well worth a visit for all ages.

I have visited 2 of the charities 4 sites and have to say the 2 I have visited are fantastic, The larger site at Godmanchester is set in large grounds with ample parking, the staff are all friendly and helpful and there is a large variety of animals to visit who are very well looked after while they await their new owners. I have also visited the smaller site at Heydon (a small village near Royston on the herfordshire/cambridgshire border) Not only is this site set in beautiful surroundings, the grounds are well maintained and it is clear to see the staff here are very passionate about the animals in their care, the pens/cages are all clean and well stocked with bedding for warmth, there is clean water and fresh food, and lots of toys and enrichment items to keep the animals amused, The staff were seen interacting with the animals and socialising the more timid ones, I have adopted 2 of my 3 cats from this site and have always found the staff here are helpful and knowledgeable.

I visited Wood Green with my three children and mum. My children would love a dog, and although we do not feel we are ready just yet we thought we would take the children to have a look and get some information about looking after a pet dog. The lady in the dog rehoming area was very helpful, telling us about what happens when you want to re home a dog and the information they provide you with to prepare you. She said we could take as many leaflets as we wanted and hoped to see us in the future. My daughter is working on her animal badge for Brownies and so took part in the 90 ways challenge. I think the events the charity holds are great for both the children and adults. We especially liked the Cattery. We visited the thrift shop which was well stocked with very good quality items, as well as the coffee shop. A great day out which cost us very little, a well worthy charity.

Located just south of the town on the A1198, Wood Green is a great place to find a rescue dor or cat. We got one of our dogs from there. They have a good pet shop, but a little expensive - all good quality though. Also present are a few horses, ducks and other smaller alnimals. There seems to be something on each weekend, including craft fairs and Christmas carol evening. Overall worth a visit and make a good home for a pet.

Rehomer a dog from here, found the perfect match for our family. I've also rehomed rats from here very friendly staff.

We often visit Wood Green as a family as they put on fantastic educational events for both the kids and us. We went to a living with dogs session one Saturday morning which we had to book on to and it was fantastic. The kids went off in too a class room and got to learn about how to live safely around dogs and we got to have a cup of tea, and listen to a very informative slide show. At the end we all came together for a quiz kids against parents and the kids won. I was really impressed with the knowledge that they have retained from the morning and we have also made some of the enrichment toys at home that the kids learnt to do while we were there. The site is great to walk around and I would recommend the café for a cup of tea and cake. Have a look on their website for up and coming events as there is always something going on.

Wood Green is temporary home to thousands on pets each year looking to find their new homes. The large site hosts many events including car boots, antiques fairs, craft fairs to mention a few. I have visited many and they are all undercover in their large arena. The restaurant always has something delicious on offer and the pet/gift shop and thrift shop are always worth a visit - lots of bargains to be had in the thrift shop! All these help support the charities rehoming activities, so whether you are looking for a new pet and want the best support and advice available to help you, or somewhere to visit with the family - Wood Green is a great trip out.

Wood Green have many events on site and great facilities. Today for instance they have an arena full of bouncy castles to enjoy for just a fiver! I visit often and have attended car boots, animal fun days and Christmas fairs there, so always make sure you check out their website to see what they have on.

A fantastic charity in a pretty setting. Darling well taken care of pets. Come here instead of a puppy or kitten mill for your next best friend. I was here for the antique show, which was really food, but stayed longer to view the animals.

If you are able to visit Wood Green's Heydon rehoming centre, in north Hertfordshire, about thirty miles south of Godmanchester, you will find a beautifully landscaped site, homing cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens. You are free to walk around at your leisure and can purchase pet supplies at reception. All the animals receive the best standards of care, and the staff are happy to help with any animal related enquiries you may have offering helpful advice. It is worth checking their website before you go to see whether there are any special events taking place. You will receive a warm welcome from the staff, volunteers and animals.
