My friend and I popped in for tea, sandwiches & cakes before collecting our boys from school. What a lovely place ! Really nice pot of tea, sandwiches, homemade scones & cakes. Great atmosphere, helpful & friendly down-to-earth owners, fresh, clean & welcoming. Great customer service & no extortionate prices. Worth it's weight in gold just for that.

I stayed here for one night and everything was fine. The room was comfortable and bright - the only reason I haven't given an excellent rating was because it was very cobwebby especially on the light fixture but I suppose it's that time of year when the spiders are coming in and making their homes in the warm. Breakfast was delicious. The owners are the nicest people you could ever wish to meet and I wish them well.

My husand and I stayed here on Friday and Saturday night. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The room had french doors that overlooked the garden which was very well cared for. Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of it. Very friendly owners for whom nothing was too much trouble.

My colleague and I stayed in the two double rooms whilst working in the area for 3 nights. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. Brakfast was amazing and was served early for us to accomodate our working hours. Evening meals are home cooked and delicious. We sampled the vegetarian butternut and spinach lasagne, the goats cheese and red onion quiche and the poached smoked salmon followed by the most mouthwatering cakes I have ever tasted. The owners are extremely friendly and the whole stay was a delight to say it was a business trip. I would definitely return for business or pleasure to this wonderful B&B.

Stayed in the twin room with my daughter for 3 nights and everything was excellent. We eat here in the evening too for convenience and the home cooked food was freshly cooked, tasty and good quality as well as being very reasonably priced and you can have a beer or wine with it too! The room was clean, modern, fresh and bright. What made this b & b so different though, is the hospitality shown by Paul and Vanessa; they really are very welcoming and will do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Perfect hosts for a lovely getaway location!

We found this place after returning from the oasis camel park. This tea room to say the least cheered up our day and we was greeted by such lovely owners. The food and drink was amazing and priced reasonable and we still had room for a homemade delight in the terms of cake.. Very yummy. They catered very well for our children and had toys and colouring station to amuse them. If you are passing it's definatly worth a visit. You won't be disappointed. Thank you guys - hope to visit again soon x

We stopped off at The Duke William for afternoon tea having come across it by chance. The owners were lovely , friendly people and the afternoon tea was top quality and very generous portions, so much so we had to take some cake away with us as we couldn't manage it all ! The tea rooms themselves have a lovely homely feel. Altogether a great place to stop off wether on a day out like we were or on holiday in this beautiful area on the Sufflok/ Norfolk border.

Stopped off on a bike ride to get fed and watered. Situated in a beautiful location, along a quiet road connecting Halesworth and Southwold. Very nice; we went for a vegetarian option, butternut squash and spinach lasagne. The food tasted great and the owners are a friendly face. Would recommend.

Had been recommended to visit this little tea rooms by friends and was not disappointed. The owners were two of the friendliest hosts I have had the pleasure of meeting, the tea rooms were large, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Had sandwiches and lovely pot of tea and coffee with a large bit of homemade cake like my mum used to make. Chatted away to the hostess who was interesting and welcoming. Cant wait to visit again. There seems to be a lot of bad publicity given to this lovely couple from locals who wanted to keep the old pub and almost go out of their way to stop business (parking cars near entrance to tea-rooms to make it difficult to get in) but I would suggest anyone visiting ignores them and get around the hurdles of red sports cars parked in the way and visit this tea rooms. It is well worth it and I will be back again with friends and family when ever I am able to.thank you for a lovely lunch

We stayed for 2 nights in an attractive, well furnished comfortable en suite room. The service was superb, the hosts being very friendly and helpful. The full english breakfast and afternoon tea with the homemade cakes were most appetising. We recommend The Duke William without hesitation.

We stayed at the tea rooms 20-22nd June 2014 & what a lovely friendly place. Paul & Vanessa are great hosts & made us feel at home, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautiful & comfy. We had lunch in the tea rooms on our arrival & I would definately recommend eating here. Our whole stay was lovely from start to finish & this is a great find & ideal base for southwold, aldeburgh etc. We will definately be back!

We recently stayed at The Duke William for a long weekend. The couple who run the business are friendly and very welcoming. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, fresh and clean. The cooked breakfasts were excellent. Freshly cooked, fresh produce and delicious. Choice of breakfast fresh juice, cereal, toast, tea and coffee also available if we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble for the couple to ensure we had a lovely time. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting somewhere to stay when in the area.

We called in today at the Duke William in Metfield for a bite to eat - with my 7 year old Daughter and her Friend (both of whom are quite fussy eaters). They loved their food and described it as The Best Food Ever. We asked for something that wasn`t on the menu and the staff were more than happy to sort it out. The owners and staff are naturally very friendly and obliging and they are great with Children. I felt like I was visiting close family!! Lovely Food, Highest level of cleanliness (everything spotless) and great value for money, first class service. I highly recommend this to anyone either as a place to eat or stay (I had a look at the rooms and they were of the same high standard as the rest of the place). Thank you for a very enjoyable meal.

We stayed recently in Metfield and had three excellent cooked lunches at Duke William tearooms. Two courses sunday for £7.95 and two courses £6.95 in the week, the food was all home made. The owners were very friendly and we will certainly be returning if we are in the area again. We wish them well with their B & B rooms.
