These gardens are very special and full of character ideal place to have lunch or a picnic in the sunshine. There are so many different types of flowers and lots of benches and the fountains are breathtaking.

everywhere you walk around these beautiful gardens is a tranquil place to sit and take in the peace. The smells and sounds make you feel like you are receiving a taste of nature.I have gone to these gardens many a time to have some Marks and Sparks Sarnies and just watch the world go by.

The gardens are worth a visit if you are in central Chichester. There is a good variety of trees and flowers and plenty benches to rest your weary feet. Don't miss the other ecclesiastical buildings nearby.

Not obvious to find - we discovered this beautiful space adjacent to the cathedral down an ancient archway off the main shopping street near crossroads. Delightful gardens, very peaceful, huge open area and almost empty. Lovely trees and colourful shrubs in autumn. Highly worth exploring.

Always worth a visit if you are in Chichester. We like to take it in as part of our walk of the city walls - also recommended

This is a little oasis in the city centre. Quite extensive tucked away behind the cathedral with a lovely view of the spire. Wander along the pathways between the trees and flower beds. Quiet spots to sit and a seating area around the central pool.

These gardens are hidden behind the bishop's palace and provide a quiet and peaceful retreat with some interesting flower beds.

We walked around the city walls and came upon the Bishop's Palace Gardens. Although these purport to be a municipal park the quality of the horticulture gives the game away. They are clearly tended by a group of enthusiastic volunteers. It must be wonderful for the locals to be able to walk in these delightful gardens on a daily basis. We were there on a sunny September day and they were bliss. They are not large but they are perfectly formed.

After a great trip round the cathedral we grabbed some lunch and came here afterwards, really nice place and knowledgable gardeners.

Well kept grounds. Always a place to linger but on a sunny day it's very hard to beat. Some more unusual plants than normally seen in UK

This Bishops Garden is also a public park, and offers a fair degree of peace and reflection as you sit under the spire of the Cathedral. Its worth noting that if you walk back to the cathedral a couple of hundred yards there are also free toilets and a great café within the grounds.
