went for a walk with the dog and a friend and thought how expensive it was. Although we throughly enjoyed are walked but we did feel the national trust are a big pushy in selling thee membership But all in all was a lovely walk

day trip with two disabled young people. staff very helpful and engaging with teens who had limited communication and one not interested. both enjoyed dressing up in the 1st world war costumes. ground floor accessible by wheel chair. car park disabled spaces all taken by 11am and it was quite muddy with puddles. nevertheless we had a lovely time but only spent approx. 1.30hrs there will come back and vist walled garden on a warmer day

This was a pleasant surpriseWelcome by 2 friendly guys as you go around, giving us the history of the place and the beauty of this castle makes it a must visit.We want to go back to see the grounds as it was raining whilst we were there and the walks looked real good to There is a café and shop to look around and have a cuppa. Looking forward to our return

Visited Croft Castle on a windy and wet day, so visited the house only, which was the best property in our tour of NT properties in the southern West Midlands area.In common with all the properties we visited, it is obvious that the average age of the staff and volunteers are much younger than those in Southern England and the London area. Additionally, in common with everyone we encountered in the region, the level of interaction and helpfulness was very welcoming.

Craft Castle is small but a wonderfully intimate National Trust property. I loved it the atmosphere here is lovely and I really felt it was a lived in house with an interesting history. I enjoyed looking at the family photographs and the first world war information was .moving and fascinating. Unfortunately we did not have time to walk in the parkland which gives me an excuse to go back!

We have visited Croft Castle, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Every season has its own magic, May time, there is an abundance of bluebells in the nearby Croft Woods, enchanting ponds and butterflies to spot. If you just want to have a coffee and snack, you can get a special ticket for the café and just enjoy walking in the grounds, without visiting the castle each time you visit. There are flowers to delight the eye in every colour, in every season, with a beautiful backdrop of majestic trees. Secluded and shady places to sit and enjoy the view and nothing like a cuppa at the Café, with the tame robins and blackbirds looking out for crumbs. A real gem of a place, that I look forward to visiting again in 2015.

Attended a ghost evening organized by the volunteers.Very atmospheric evening tour of the castle followed by a light supper.Well organized and everyone entered into the spirit of the evening.Light supper was excellent and more substantial than expected..The cost of £25 was good value when you consider how expensive theme events can be...and there was only 12 of us.A big thankyou to the volunteers for organizing the evening

Decided to go see croft ambrey Roman hill fort which is accessible through the parkland at croft castle . I vaguely remember there being a small charge for parking your car near the big house ,so we took some change , on arriving my husband went to pay , only to discover that we would be charged just over twenty pounds for walking along the public footpaths if we parked in the national trust car park , so instead we found a far nicer route with better views and less people at another village up the road ! Cannot quite believe they charge that much for public footpaths ,or even to park a single car ! Gosh ! Won't be going again , on visiting the big house(it's not a castle ) and gardens a few years back we found them a bit of a let down , but the country side around about is stunning .We actually caught up with a couple we had seen at the car and who had paid the fee ,we had a chat with them and explained they didn't have to to pay if they parked where we had ,they were a bit put out !

We took our four and six year old to the snowman trail and to visit Father Christmas. The visit to Father Christmas was amazing, he is truly the most realistic Santa we have ever seen. The way in which he spoke to the children was so lovely and they were both mesmerised. The elves and all of the staff in the castle were so friendly and every single person we passed wished us a Happy Christmas. Well done Croft castle!

Usually love my visits to Croft Castle What light exhibits there were were fabulous but there was just not enough of them to warrant a visit. Most annoyingly we were not told when we paid our entrance fee that last entry to the house was 6 30 pm. Had we been told we would have gone there first. As it was we were simply turned away. Very poor show Croft Castle. You could have done so much better

My wife and I took our 2 year old gransdson to see Father Christmas at the castle on the 06th December, we would just like to say thank you for the experience. We were met at the door by an `elf` who directed us into a craft making area where my grandson was helped to make an angel from a cothes peg and then ushered into see Father Christmas and Mrs Christmas. What lovely people, no false beards just atmospheric lighting in the cellars below the castle, my little boy was awestruck and he was even then given a very worthwhile present, not like the usual tat. Thanks to all of you you gave a little boy lasting memories to-day, well done.

A fascinating house which this year is showing how the family was affected by what happened in 1914.We especially liked the man who was upstairs playing the organ and then popped up downstairs playing the piano while he and some of the guests sang.The walled garden was interesting too especially the restoration of the greenhouse with its fascinating system to open all the windows.

An enjoyable day out is promised at Croft. The owners have lived here since before the Norman Conquest, and you can see why they stayed. The house and contents are well worth seeing. Talk to the friendly guides.

Enjoyable day out and walk around the grounds, lovely to get out and enjoy some fresh air and sample some history around the castle.However sadly the views that are promised in the leaflet weren't viable that day (plus there is a big quarry on the other side) which was a tad disappointing, but you cannot change the weather! When we paid our in entry the woman behind the till was trying to bully us into getting membership which although we would love to do we do not have the budget for, eventually she dropped it. Would have been a more enjoyable day with less children running around out of control, staff seemed very frazzled in the restaurant with children running about screaming whilst they were carrying plates of food. We would love to go back and walk round more, maybe one day with fewer children and good visibility!
