Love this place. Fun for all the family. So much to do for all ages. Cafe is very good and reasonably priced. Small gauge railway is good fun with both steam and diesel engines. Normally plenty of parking. Two separate play seas catering for different ages. The waking trail is great and well looked after. If you want to spend a bit of cash there is Go Ape, Bike Hire and Segway Hire. All good - just need the weather to behave!

Spent a lovely afternoon here with my two children. Great play areas which catered for both a toddler and 9 year old. Took them on the steam train, which we all really enjoyed. Lots of lovely walking trails, including a gruffalo one! Reasonably priced cafe, all in all a good day out.

Country walks, ducks, wild birds, steam trains, play parks, cycle rides, coffees, light meals. Fab. On a nice day take a stroll with the family, but don't bother looking for fairgrounds and slot machines. Try somewhere else for those. Just get close to nature. At weekends there's a super railway and when that's closed put 20p in the slot at the station for a great little model railway. No fee for admittance, but the car parking can be pricey. Don't go on a hot weekend or Bank Holiday or you'll find yourself on the end of a long queue for the car park. (Ask a local how to get in via the back door from Potterne Park, Verwood. Free parking and a longer walk, but well worth it.)

This place is always fun to visit albeit a little low key. The parking is reasonable and the facilities are well signposted and convenient. We spent half a day here during half term with 8 children between us. You can watch the people participating in GoApe and walk or cycle between the play areas which seemed to change each time we go. All i would ask for is better signage back to the carpark from the forest in case you need to get there in a hurry.

First things first.......take your Wellies if its been raining - this place gets VERY muddy and so did we - something we all enjoyed :o) We decided to take our 2 year old and 6 year old here for a little day out, to say we all really enjoyed it is an understatement. There is so much to do there from playing in the park, feeding the ducks, to taking a little train ride, to going on a walk around the whole park. The park was very busy but well maintained - lots of activities for children of all ages to do. The walk around the park (through woodlands) was around a mile long, but every so often there was an activity to stop and do / climb - the children and adults were getting really stuck in. The place is really safe just to let you children run wild and blow those winter cobwebs away. Free to get in, but you have to pay for parking - which is fine, we were here for about 5 - 6 hours and we paid £7.60 parking - Fantastic, especially for what the children done throughout the day. Café prices for a cup of tea / coffee were very reasonable, we didn't eat here as we bought our own picnic so cannot comment on the food prices. All in all a fantastic day out for ALL the family..................we are all ready planning our next trip and have recommended Moors Valley Country Park and Forest to friends and family :o)

Quite often walk to Moors Valley and the last time popped into the Cafe which is licensed. I had a local Dorset cider from the Purbeck Cider Farm and it was excellent especially at £3.60 per pint. The service is very good but can't comment on the food as I didn't eat there.

When approaching we thought it was a busy day as the traffic was heavy but no, it's like that always as we got there at 11 the road was a twenty minute jam. Obviously lessens add the day passes but just so you know it can be busy. The car parks are colour coded, remember your colour and you will find your car at the end of the day. A note on parking / costs, go in holiday time and they ramp up the prices by about 50%, £4 vs £8 all day roughly during the holidays. You'll have to decide if a walk there is better than a walk in the rest of the New Forest which you can do for free. There were lots of things to see and climb over for our three year old but the two year old just walked or was pushed with little to do. The Gruffalo trail we had done at Alice Holt Forest so chose not to do it here. Go Ape for older children would be excellent fun. Didn't go on the stream train as they were restless/tired and hungry, the restaurant had run out of sandwiches by one and everything was generally overpriced by quite a lot, so take a picnic.I think actually that's what we took away from Moors Valley, it's an expensive walk in the woods. Good facilities and nicely laid out but just an expensive way to get fresh air. We'll go back I'm sure but I'm not going to mark it down because it was expensive, that would be churlish. Nice place.

Regually visit, fab but usually park at pottery park in Verwood and walk from there as the parking is expensive but if you get season ticket for parking it's a real bargain!!

Nothing to dislike and do as much as you choose. Love the Moors Valley Railway, the forest walks and children's play area not forgetting the Gruffallo trail.

A great park for young and old. I live not too far away from the Country Park and took my own children there when they were younger and now I go with my daughter and her family. Lovely area, lovely walks, lovely cycle paths, Go Ape - you will always have a great time, no matter what the weather. It's lovely just walking on my own too. Well worth a visit if in the area.

this place is brilliant if you want to bring children as young as 0+ as they will enjoy the nature that lives within the forest and country park.there is also a miniature train that you can buy a ticket for and ride up the country park with.

Great place for a day out with lots to do. Ate in the restaurant which was very busy, surprisingly the food was very good and reasonably priced. The staff were extremely helpful.

I used to go here all the time in the summer when I was younger so have loved it for years. It's such a nice place to go for a day out with loads to do from a massive park, woodland trails and different adventure things at each stop like big wooden play areas. Now I'm older I went back to try "Go Ape" here with my friends and it was brilliant! It's like being a monkey up in the air and there's a zip wire at the end of each course! I'd highly reccomend it for anyone looking for an outdoor adventure, we even went when there was a bit of rain and it didn't spoil our day!

I could have spent all day here - there is so much to do! However I was very short on time so only managed a half-hour visit. Good job that's plenty of time to try out the 'Through The Forest' trail on my bike. If only we had stuff like this where I live on the Isle of Wight!
