The gardens are lovely - great ideas for difficult areas. The nursery is divided into sections, so you can see what plants would suit the type of area you are trying to garden in. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful and the added bonus is a great restaurant!

Thank you for your review, I'm glad that you found the food 'delicious' in our Tearoom and that you enjoyed the garden on your visit in late winter/early spring. There is always something to see and right now we are still blanketed in snowdrops and full of much welcome signs that spring is well on its way.The menu that we provide in the Tearoom is homely fair with a large fresh cake selection, soup made daily, jacket potato's with a range of homemade fillings, quiches (all homemade), specials and a small main meal selection appropriate to the time of year. This is a seasonal menu using fresh, locally sourced, seasonal produce. Our Spring menu will be available from Easter I'm sorry that you found the shop limited. This is an area that we have identified as needing to be developed for this spring/summer and just this week we have expanded the sales area available. We also have a new Retail Manager who has both a retail and horticultural background and we are looking forward to them joining our team mid March. In the past the shop was merely seen as the area to pay for the plants for sale on our extensive nursery, however, we appreciate that our customers would like to see more variety in the range of gardening equipment, gifts for gardeners and local crafts. Thanks again for your comments which help us to continually improve and develop our customer experience. We hope that as well as the Garden and Tearoom you will also enjoy our 'retail experience' on your next visit to us.Kind regards Julia

Myself and my daughters visited during the February half term, and they were really excited to be able to take part in the bulb activity. We also came last year during the October half term when they did the Halloween pumpkin hunt. On both occasions, we had lunch in the tea room. The food and drink was delicious, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We also explored the gardens, and the girls enjoyed using our camera to take photos of the various plants! I personally enjoy walking round the gardens as I find it very tranquil, and therefore very relaxing. We will definitely come back during the Easter Holidays, as there is a Easter Egg hunt for the children. We will also be purchasing some of the wonderful plants for our garden.

If you like gardens theres something to enjoy and appreciate all year here ,just sit in the tranquil environment, and seeing many many varieties of plants you dont see in your usual garden centre if you want to buy something the garden centre is a excellent choice to find it, a great place to sit and enjoy the nature and peacefulness . Also has a lovely restaurant .

Is a lovely place to pop in for refreshment or to look round the gardens. If you are local it is worthwhile getting a yearly card.

It was nice to visit these pretty gardens at this time of year, before the onset of spring. It was a dry cloudy day but it was pleasant to see the snowdrops and hellebores out. The gardens were peaceful and tranquil, neat and tidy awaiting the burst of spring. The plants in the nursery are so well laid out. I particularly found it good when looking for plants for particular areas for my own garden, be it a shady, dry, wet or sunny area. There are also picnic tables outside at the front before entering the gardens. Looking forward to another visit in mid spring.

We have only visited in the winter months and generally pop along several times from October to December, the leaves are beautiful at this time and the staff friendly, as well as the shop and café being sweet and providing a variety of beautiful things to buy and delicious things to eat. Definitely worth a lunch time visit.
