Good walk, easy to follow from Melrose with good marked routes through out. Views across the whole Border region are super!

The 3 hills are easy to get to and only take an hour to an hour and a half to climb and the views are worth it

A stairway has been provided for the first couple of hundred feet out of Melrose, offering a useful route up to the base of the three hills - all of which offer magnificent and panoramic views of the entire region,

We visited Walter Scott's view and the William Wallace memorial as well as the Roman excavations. A very interesting area.

its a steep climb up to the top off the middle eildon but well worth it for the view .you can almost see to the east coast from the top ,its quiet easy to walk all 3 hills in an afternoon and enjoy the different aspect off the views from each 1. you might come across some off the wild life on your walk .there are skylarks . grouse .and even the occasional adder seen there.

Walked over the Eilden Hills to Melrose and back, lovely views and a well marked path, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I took a ride up and around the Eildons on my mountain bike and there is some fantastic riding. It's clay soil so definitely best visited in the dry. There are quite a few steps to negotiate onto the hill first but it's well worth getting up there. Tremendous views too.

While staying near by me and boyfriend decided to climb the eildon hills. The paths are all well laid out and easy to follow plus the local tourist information had visitor guides to help anyone unsure. Make sure you pick a good, clear day and you can see for miles!

We regularly go to Melrose and if the weather has been good we make a point of climbing one, or all, of the hills. Lovely views over much of the borders.

You should make the effort to walk to the top of the Eildon's. Lovely walk and excellent views of the scottish borders at the top.

Beautiful views of Melrose and the surrounding countryside. We walked "St. Cuthber's Way" in reverse (starting at Lindisfarne and finishing at Melrose). The steep climb and descent really made us appreciate our accomplishment!

Trimontium walk – this is on offer every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon starting from the Roman Heritage Centre in the square in the centre of Melrose. The walk is a circular 5 mile walk and takes you uphill to Newstead Village and the site of where the fort once stood (it is just a field now). There are information boards and our guide was very good at helping us to visualize what the fort would have been like. We returned via the river and the Abbey having stopped off in a village hall for tea and biscuits provided by some very friendly local people (this was included in the price). Later we walked up the highest hill. It is steep and stoney and strong boots, water and sun cream are useful!

its a steep walk up to the top off eildon hills but worth it for the view alone, you can see right to the east coast from the top off middle eildon on a clear day.you have a full 360 view from up there, and there are grouse ,skylarks etc.when the heather flowers the hills are coated in nice pinky/lilac glow .the easy way to walk up middle one is to drive up near melrose golf club then walk up the side off the club rooms ,there is a path and this is the route i find the quickest. you can walk all 3 hills in a few hours .is lovely up there on a summers evening .

We had a rare beautiful day to climb Middle and North Hills. We'll signposted, steep, but not difficult, rewarded at the top(s) with stunning views over the whole Border Country. Not busy, loved it. If you want a true Borders experience with not too much strenuous effort, climb the Eildons from Melrose, then relax in the Abbey!

Easy walk with family. View breathtaking! But be careful with weather- path full of mud in a rainy day.
