Have you tried Cairn o Mohr Scottish produced fruit wines yet? No? Well do it soon. They are deliciously Have you tried Cairn o Mohr Scottish fruit wines yet? No? Well it's time you did. More-ish or should I say Mohr-ish? Watch out though because they are 13.3% volume! Stronger than normal and very drinkable. So definitely no driving the next day if you over indulge the night before. Popped in to this quaint quirky cottage-industry type winery unexpectedly on the way back from Dundee one Saturday afternoon. Drove into the car park - of sorts...different and definitely not conforming to national standards...all the more interesting for that in my view. We found ourselves surrounded by large shiny stainless steel vats; in stark contrast carved tree trunks with happy faces painted on them and a number of interesting higgledy piggledy buildings with bright colourful paintings sprawled all over them. Reminded me of the curious buildings in Lemony Snickets. Great place to discover. Stuff for kids too. There are tours of the winery but we didn't partake today. Looking for a bite of lunch and found the wee cafe... another cute, quirky, cosy part of the experience. Busy, busy, busy!! The place was buzzing. We had arrived at the same time as a coach party so getting a table was challenging. We asked if we could order to take away. Yes we can do that was the answer. We did so and while it was being prepared we visited the shop and yes succumbed to buying a few bottles to put by for a special day. Strawberry and raspberry. Delicious. We then went back for our toasties... roast beef, horseradish and stilton: delicious (although preferably I would have liked more/stronger stilton) and brie and raspberry.. delicious again. Home made soups with a choice of breads and home-baking:cakes and scones. Good choice. Reasonably priced. By the time our sandwiches were made a table had become available. So ideal. First day of the season apparently and if this is a sign of things to come...profits should be healthy. Lovely friendly staff offering fast service. We will be back! Thank you. guys.

we will be going back when cafe and the tour is on.but was great to see all the wines and taste some,we got couple bottles of cider and bottle of wine, the fact you get a taste is fantastic at least you know when you buy you are going home with something you will enjoy.the girl who served us was very friendly and could not have been any more helpfull.big plus when you have really great staff.only bit that was bummer was, they had no bannana wine and that was one of reasons i went, shame there is no sign it will be made again.so if you want to make me really happy on my next trip, please think of remaking this.

A group of 10 of us did the £12 tour on 27th December,we all thought it was amazing,Isla made us all feel so welcome and had even cut her time in Ireland short so that we could have the tour. Thank you to her for that, she was so kind and friendly. We would all recommend it.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and was amazed at the process each wine goes through. The tour guide was very informative and guided us through the whole process in great detail. The tasting session provided generous measures; overall was very much worth the money. Impressed.

We went here for a tour on a dark, blustery, dull, rainy October Sunday - and what a joy it was! The tour itself wasn't overly long - very informative, anecdotal, funny.... just what you're looking for actually. I actually live in the region and was amazed at their 100% locally sourced produce for their wines and ciders. Who knew? The tasting session is a treat!! Lots of really flavoursome, scrummy wines to choose from, and a couple of sneaky ciders in there too. I have to admit that a couple were just not suited to my palette! But on the whole, what an array or fantastic wines they have.Touring the shop at the end (possibly helped by the tasting!) I could have spent a small fortune. However, I was held back by my other half and my parents who were there to ensure I didn't bankrupt myself. But I could have!!A great afternoon out, finished off nicely by a steaming bowl of homemade soup at the on-site cafe. I will definitely think about heading to their open day in the summer of 2015 to smash a bottle or two, and consume one or two (sensibly of course!!)>Couldn't recommend this wee tour highly enough if you're in the area and free for a morning / afternoon!

Received as a Birthday gift and took a friend. We had a lovely afternoon. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and good fun. As others have said lots of wine to taste, some better than others and no pressure to buy. Met some like minded people! More than happy to recommend the tour.

Brilliant tour , Isla was great, very funny and also explained the history and processes involved in depth. Went with my daughter and we both really enjoyed the day out, the generous wine tasting finished of a really good day out! Some wines were better than others, different from traditional wines but nice just the same. Certainly worth a visit.

A ITISON voucher took us along to Cairn o Mohr on a blustery Sunday afternoon for a tour and tasting. Our guide Lindsay was full of enthusiasm and knowledge and as regular drinkers of the wines it was nice to see the background to it. Arriving early we had time for a cuppa and snack in the lovely wee café which was busy but welcoming. The post tour tasking was fun with non alcoholic options available, it was rounded off by cider tasting in the shop and a chance to purchase from the full range available as well as select our complimentary bottle. Id happily suggest friends visit and I'll definitely go back to the café and shop

From start to finish this was a great outing. There were about 20 in our tour but we could easily see and hear everything that was going on. Isla our tour guide was really knowledgeable and had been involved at Cairn O'Mohr for a long time so was able to share lots of stories. The tasting was great - extremely generous amount of wines to try and great flavours. No pressure to buy at all - but we did of course! Its great what they do here in a few sheds - we hope the feel isn't lost as they expand. We'll come back to find out. The café too had good coffee and cakes.

We did the wine tasting tour where we were shown round the winery and all the processes involved in wine making which was very informative. After the tour we were given 4 red, 4 white and sparkling wine to sample. After that we tried the fruit ciders. Definitely felt the effects of the different wines at the end of the tasting session!! (luckily we had arranged a lift!!).We didn't eat in the café but have heard good things about it though.Highly recommended afternoon out - just make sure you have a non-drinker in the party.

Bought voucher from ItisOn to do something different and it was definitely worth it. A well delivered, tour with a good sized party, followed by the tasting session where we tried nearly all the varieties and were given explanations and suggestions for what foods to accompany the wines with. In the shop we tried some more and I left the visit feeling slightly lively and content.
