Having never had a tour of the city hall in Belfast, I had an opportunity to visit the city hall in 2012, after it had a major refurbishment which was completed in 2009. It was worth the wait until after the refurbishment and see the city hall in all its glory. An excellent guide showed us around the building and giving us the history of the hall as we went round. I really enjoyed the experience and returned later, armed with my camera to photograph the various interesting parts of the building. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone local or any visitors to Belfast

Worth a tour and, doesn't cost anything so that's got to be a positive. I even got photos of my Canadian brother-in-law sitting in the Lord Mayor's seat. Can be unlucky though on my second visit bringing friends the room holding Titanic memorabilia was being used for a meeting. Don't miss out, not much for nothing nowadays.

This was something a security guard told us about. Interesting tour of the council chambers and you'll see some furniture on display that was finished too late to take its intended place on the Titanic. We met the Mayor on our tour and were given chocolate brownies....but I don't think that's always included!

A magnificent building with a great history which is a credit to the city. The art, artefacts and architecture are truely outstanding. It must be a wonderful place to work. The main entrance and grand stairway simply take your breath away. Oh how I wish my council offices looked like this! Not sure if our visit was the run of the mill tour or a specialy arranged one, but it was great to see the civic regalia and council chamber, and to meet the Mayor. A big thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome.

Must take the tour to look around. If you are there at christmas time it is hard to miss the market in the gardens

Beautiful building, but very average tour! We only saw a small section of the building and the guide wasn't very informative. It was free though and not a bad way to spend an hour!

The tour was really informative. Our tour guide was brilliant. She took her through the most beautifully maintained building. Each room had a story to it. I was happy to hear there is a lady mayoress. The guide was really knowledgable and informative. She made the visit so enjoyable.Would highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting Belfast.

Situated in heart of Belfast City in Donegall Square this lovely piece of classical renaissance architecture is a most to go and see.It is worth checking out their website on http://www.belfastcity.gov.uk/tourism-venues/cityhall/cityhall-about.aspx for further information but access to the hall is free during certain times of the day namely, Mon - Fri 11am, 2pm & 3pm; Sat 2pm & 3pm. All you need to do is present yourself at the reception desk and ask for a place on the next tour of the building. You will be invited to sign a register and you will be given a wee yellow tour card which will be taken from you as your tour gets under way.The City Hall is all about inclusion and a lot of time and effort has been put into making this accessible to everyone who may wish to view. All the staff are able to converse in sign language, there are hearing loop, for those who are hard of hearing, wheelchair access to all areas and lifts provided. All the internal doors open automatically upon approach or there is a large easy-open button which can be pressed to effect the same. All staff that I spoke to were helpful and friendly as I booked a spot on the 2pm tour. The tours are run on a first-come, first-served basis and the tour lasts around 45-minutes. No restrictions are placed on the taking of photos and throughout the tour, plenty of opportunities are given for the taking of pictures. Our guide for the day was very knowledgeable, spoke well and was very interesting, exhibiting a soft sense of humour that was well received.Once inside and on the tour you are introduced to the wonders of the building from the Dome, the rotunda, through to the Robing rooms, Council Chambers and the Great Hall. There are beautiful and original stained glass throughout and themes linking to the Titanic can be seen from time to time. This is a great way to spend some time whilst in Belfast and if you find you're tired after all that walking and photo-shooting, take the time to pop along to the 'Bobbin Café' where there are further things to see and enjoy a bite to eat and a hot drink.I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would be happy to recommend this to anyone visiting the City Centre.
