Now, a 2000-acre spread is my idea of an estate. We were pleasantly surprised at seeing Crom Castle, set on its peninsula, surrounded by the glittering waters. The birdlife supported by the stand of oak trees has to be believed and so is the purple butterflies and red squirrels. The highlight of the grounds, is a vast yew tree, planted in the 1600s , one of the oldest in Ireland. We ambled along the paths that wind through the estate skirting the castle, a huge, grey, limestone building that is a stand-alone structure in this vast emporium of space. Crossing the bridge to Inisherk Island and from the slipway, had a superb view of Crichton Tower, a single erection standing on the islet at a point where five channels converge. Another super view was from the ruins of the former Crom Castle, which we reached following a path from the boathouse. loved the guided walks and natural trails, watching the coarse angling and boating life.

Visited here 25 Aug. Great day out, all staff very helpful & friendly. Grounds well marked & laid out. Castle is privately owned but plenty to see, including the lovely tame deer in the deer park. Restaurant had great selection of food & gorgeous coffee. Long way from main road but well worth the visit. Beautiful views & good value.

A really nice place to visit in this remote area. It is definately worth the effort on a sunny day to enjoy warm, friendly staff in the coffee shop and walks around the Old Crom Castle, stone Boathouse and summerhouse. The National Trust have renovated the old farm buildings to provide holiday rentals, the coffee shop and good quality camping/caravan site. This is off the beaten track of the Enniskillen area but worth the detour.

A great place, somewhat remote but this makes it all the more special. We enjoyed some tasty treats in the coffee shop which were served by incredibly pleasant staff. We then headed out on a lovely walk along the lough taking in the sights of the old castle, massive dragonflies, and a peaceful walk up to the summer house. Were it not so remote we would love to return, the walks are brilliant, a lovely relaxing place to sit and watch the world go by and take in lovely scenery and refuel with delicious buns and coffee. Good children's play area.

Crom Estate, located on the southern shores of Upper Lough Erne, offers parkland, woodland and wetlands with boating, bird watching, and outdoor activities and children's play park. Just 5 miles from Lisnaskea. Had great time on my first visit will be back with grandchildren!!

We spent a couple of hours here walking around the grounds. The National Trust run the grounds but the Castle still belongs to the family and is therefore closed to the day tripper. The view of the water from the shore is just one of the most beautiful in the whole of Fermanagh. I would like to return and spend the whole day walking over to the walled garden across the bridge. It is a pity they have not created a photography point to photograph the castle as it is really handsome.Well worth a visit.

As an outing to celebrate the birthdays of two sister in laws whose ages shall remain a top secret, sixteen of the family were part of the cruise and dine experience organised by The West Wing at Crom Castle and what an experience. If ever you get the opportunity to experience this event grasp it with both hands, I am really struggling to find words to describe it but exceptional and outstanding come to mind. Let me give you a brief description of the whole event. Having seen the advert in the local paper we initially booked our places via the phone number given and between Noël and Viscount John everything was sorted out with extreme efficiency. We boarded the Inniscrusier at the Share Centre and embarked on a one hour guided tour of Upper Lough Erne, much to the joy of all concerned there was a bar service available on board with all drinks at very reasonable prices. The cruiser was manned by staff from the Share Centre and it was a wonderful experience. When we arrived via boat at Crom Castle we were bussed from the jetty to the West Wing of Crom Castle were we were personally greeted by Viscount Cricton himself who throughout the night proved to be an exceptional host and most accommodating. The whole party consisted of just over forty people and we were duly wined and dined by the staff from Saddlers Restaurant in Enniskillen and if the food we got on the night is a reflection of what is available in Enniskillen then there should be a long queue outside the door because it was a fantastic banquet. Throughout the meal the Viscount was on hand to give us a brief history of the Castle and of his own family. due a mistake on our own behalf all our party were not seated together, however when it came to the presentation of the birthday cakes Viscount John brought us to his own private drawing room for that particular part of the evening. This was a real upstairs downstairs experience with photographs to prove it. Once the meal was over we once again embarked on our boat journey back to the Share Centre. At just £50 each not to be missed What an experience, thanks to Viscount Cricton, Noel, The Share team and Saddlers Restaurant for a truly memorable experience.

We usualy take our fishing boat to Crom on calm sunny Saturdays. Sundays can be a bit busy during the summer months. There's a cafe on site offering teas, cakes and non-kitchen hot foods such as hot sandwiches and pies. The grounds offer great view of the lake and quiet paths that meander through the estate. It is a lovely retreat for the weekends. We did not stay on the estate so not sure how their accommodation rates.

Our second campung trip to this fabulous place but sadly ruined by noise level on campsite into tge wee small hours. Manager was on leave and deputy not interested in adressing problems which continued and worsened on second night of stay. Too tired and upset to enjoy the place so left on day 3, holiday ruined. Earplugs would not address the problem. Camping area is overcrowded with 12 pitches where in my experience there would be 4. Fire pit is right next to tents so choking smoke drifts over tents when first lit, in certain wind directions. Moved tent to nearby field for second night but screaming kids running riot woke us up, and failed to get back to sleep for hours after. If you are still going to persevere and camp here, also be aware there is only cold water provided for washing dishes, one sink. There's no washing machine. This is a really beautiful place, and well worth spending time here, if you avoid the campsite.

Well worth the effort to visit; exceptionally pretty to walk around the well kept grounds. Crom Castle looks superb; pity you cant get closer to see it. We did find it tricky to find but maybe that was the SatNav taking us down tracks, unnamed roads with lots of wing-mirror-clipping-hedges moments.

What a fabulous campsite!!We stayed for two nights, travelled up on Friday evening and pitched our tent after 8pm.There are two sites for tents (no caravans here) both are flat with an elevated area and a lower area and both are very close to the toilet and shower block which were kept very clean at all times. There is a communal campfire just beside the campsite and wood can be purchased on the day for about £4. The families we were camping alongside were very friendly and we all enjoyed a campfire with marshmallows on the Saturday evening. We hired a boat and went of to Belturbet on the morning of checkout, I asked the staff about having the tent packed up before the slot at 11am and they were happy for it to stay up until we came back, really nothing was too much trouble - lots to do and even after two days we hadn't finished exploring! My only negative would be that there is no hot water for washing dishes - us hardy campers didn't mind boiling the water first :-)Definately the best site we have been to and for anyone who has always camped alongside caravans you should really try this - theres no going back!!
