Thanks to reviews here and guide books we came prepared with our passports. After a 40min wait we got a tour through this magnificent building. The sheer size from the outside will be topped by the interior. Our guide was Radu, a very knowledgable and funny guide who was able to give a fab insight in what the building was and still is about. The view from the roof was amazing. If you're interested in history, a must see.

Take the walk from Calea Victoriei (or the Old Town) and turn right and follow the Dombovita River on Spiaiul Indipendentei..when you get to the bridge cross it (Metro station Izvor) and you will have the Palace in front of you on the other side of the Parcul Izvor. It is enormous!! The sit on one the benches in the park..listen to the children laughing and playing in the play ground and look at the people walking slowly enjoying the park..and try to imagine what has happen here 25 years ago. It is scaring. At the Moment (march 2015) there is an exhibition on the outside of the Muzeul de Istorie (Calea Victoriei, 12) with story and touching photos of what happened 25 years ago. December 1989. A must see, like the palace

A group of eight of us toured the palace during a free day in Bucharest. The building is enormous from the outside and looks much bigger from the inside. It was neat to see all the different rooms and they architecture. However, the tour we took wasn't that great. I believe there are two types of tours and we took the shorter one. I cannot comment on the other. For the shorter one, you only get to see a very small portion of the entire building. Cost wasn't bad but you had to pay extra for each person taking pictures (I believe it was 30 or 35 leu). Definitely worth seeing if you have never been but not worth a second tour.

The building is massive from the outside, but when you are inside you realise its true grandness. Gold, silk and finest materials to create the interior of this building. Go on the roof, have a look at Bucharest from up above. It is important to have your passport with you when you go on the tour. I was very much impressed by the biggest building in Europe.

Important place to visit, not for the beauty (not much there) or the design (blighted socialist bunker styling). It is a monstrosity, built on the bones of the dozens who died labor on this singular act of egotism and the epitaph for centuries of history buried under foot when the land was cleared of Bucharest's historic district. Tasteless, overdone excess, empty pointlessly massive chambers built for the deranged mania of a tyrant. Turkey's Sultan-For-Life, Tayip Bey Erdogan recently built himself one in Ankara. Someone ought to remind him of this owners end. The centuries tick by and they never learn...

This is a top attractions if you want to understand the history of the city and to a certain extent the recent history of Romania. One of the most important communist symbols in the world, this World Record construction should be visited at least once in life. It's advisable to make a reservation and do bring an ID card. The guides are great and the small souvenir shop at the entrance is also very interesting. Just be aware they do not accept credit cards so be sure to have cash with you.

Remember you will need your passport to enter .. We didn't get to look inside as didn't take our passport then on the following day they closed as they were busy! The building was however very impressive.

The building is huge but our tour was only of a few rooms and a staircase. I wasn't as amazed as I thought I'd be and overall I wouldn't bother bringing my guests here again. It's better seen from the outside in my opinion.

I have visited it and I can tell you not to miss in Romania. Is the biggest building I ever see - second in the world after Pentagon. Take the complete tour which costs EUR 10 and you will see only 5% from sightseeing. Iulia guide very nice and proffesional. Don't miss it!

25 lei for the basic tour. Extra fee if you want to take photographs. The building inside looks a bit neglected. However it's huge size is impressive. 30 min of security check before entering a <1h tour.

A fun tour of a bizarre and typically communist (looks like the main structure could survive a nuclear attack, but the fixtures and fittings are falling apart) building. Very helpful guide who spoke excellent English. Best attraction in Bucharest.

Ceausescu's key vanity project, this gigantic folly now houses the Parliament, the odd committee, business event and delegation, but seemingly little else. Only finished after his execution (as so much had already been spent on it) the outside architecture of this massive rather brutalist building is pretty grim but inside it boasts vast halls, staircases and rooms of marble and wood panelling which cannot fail to impress. The guided tour (the only way to get inside) also takes you to the roof terrace for a view over the city (which is interesting but cannot be called pretty or even attractive). We had a great young guide who knew her stuff. The tours in English are around mid day every day, last 1.5 hours and you must show your passport to get in. The cost is around £7 per person, more if you want to take photos.

You are only able to visit the Parliament building by going on an internally organised tour. If it is very busy, you are better to book a timed tour, this means that you will have to visit the building to do this. REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR PASSPORT, or you are unable to go on a tour.Although the outside is extremely grand and the rooms inside are huge, there is nothing much to see as there is no furniture or paintings as you would find in, say, an English country house.The guide stated that we had only see 3% of the building on our tour, and quite honestly, as one room looked very much like another room, that was plenty for me.Overall, I was disappointed in the inside, but there was no getting away with it, that the outside was truly grand

I've been here a few times now as I'm adopted from romania. I took my partner here this year, it's such a beautiful palace with such sad history behind it. You get some much information and people who think romania isn't historical should go here and listen to what the people went through. It's eye opening.
