Live music, great food, unbelievable scenery! Down side....... Pricey in restaurants and bars. Ski lift a great experience but again costly. Loved the cleanliness of Zermatt itself and will be back.

This town is the cutest little alpine village. We were there just before ski season and it was just beautiful. The hotels and shops are warm and outside everywhere they have their colourful little flower boxes hanging from all their windows just gorgeous.the old part of town is well worth a walk through. The views of the Matterhorn from several parts of town is amazing and no cars only electric ones is fantastic. This place is adorable can't wait to go back.

Headed to Zermatt in a summer morning. We had the perfect sunrise photo by just a short climb, stopped the climb after we couldn't catch our breath. Didn't opt for the cable car which our other friends enjoyed thoroughly playing with the snow. Would prepare ourselves for longer climb next time!

We relax and no engine combustion smell along the road, good view of the mountain and many ski enthusiast practicing. Ride on the cable car up to view the city is perfect. Good to visit again on different season for the experience.

Zermatt was what I have dreamt of since I was little. The place was more beautiful then I could ever imagine and I have travelled a fair bit in my time. The beautiful town is surrounded by the most magical place ever.We were lucky to travel there for their first season of snow, we don't ski but seeing the town and the whole mountains cover in snows is just something out of the movie set.We took the cable cars up the mountain and it was worth the experience. I don't like high but I was so glad to get up there.

We visited this place in all her glory, it was our second time to this lovely scenic spot. The Matterhorn, Gonegrat,.there is a train or cable car service to get to these places but it depends on how much energy you have.We were full of air and life and the rains dissapeared before we could make the ascent mind you it was snowing when we got to the top and it was the middle of the summer

Zermatt is the closest place to get to the top, to Matterhorn. Wonderful village, full of character. Unfortunattely there are a lot of new buildings coming up (hotels) and that is what is going to distroy the natural beauty. It is very sad to see all the alpine spirit crashed under buildings and commercialization. And yet we have to enjoy while it lasts. There are many places to go to from Zermatt or just browsing around the village, but one place that is not very popularized is the Gorner Gorge which can be found at the end of Zermatt. Just 10-15min walk from the centre. And is the most wonderful feeling once there. With the small fee of 4.50 CHF for an adult you are in the middle of stunning views from the top of the wooden path. Curved walks amongst gigantic cliffs takes you in the heart of the forest. At the end you choose to come back to where you started or to countinue towards Winkelmatten. Once you are on the way to Winkelmattedn you can find yourself into the most beautiful meadow with the view of the titan - Matterhorn. Stongly recommended!!!

Fresh clean air, amazing, truly amazing scenery, nice restaurants and bars - brown cow pub on the Main Street, does amazing burgers- pricey, but worth it. Zermatt is expensive so be prepared to spend. Glacier paradise is incredible. Riding the cable cars is not for the faint hearted, neither is crossing the swing bridge at Furi! Stop off at schwarsee on the cable car and enjoy lunch in the schwarsee hotel whilst listening to a live band. Feeling energetic? - hire a dirt scooter and ride through the alps! As for the Matterhorn backdrop, words cannot express!

A must see on your visit to Switzerland. Excellent restaurants, shops and breathtaking views. Plan on spending the day or stay in one of the many hotels and make Zermatt your holiday destination.

The title of my review says it all. We went for a day trip to Zermatt from Zurich. Although a 3 hour trip because of the stops along the way it was worth every minute. Before we left for our trip to Switzerland we checked the weather every day to see what day would be best to go to Zermatt. We checked before we got to the hotel, the hotel in Zurich checked to see the weather and every day it was cloudy, or partly cloudy, 60% chance of rain, and cool only 60 degrees Fahrenheit, or about 16 Celsius. But we went anyway. I do not know where the weather prediction came from, maybe someone had to much wine because we got there and it was absolutely beautiful. Sunny, mild, clear view of the Alpine range and the Matterhorn. The town is quite interesting made for the tourist trade and I had to buy a shoulder bag to carry my coat and sweat shirt that I brought because of the incorrect weather forecast. The temperature in Zermatt was at least 20 Celsius or about 68 degrees when we got there and it went up in the afternoon. We went to Sunnegga to view the Matterhorn, my friend did not want to take a cable car any higher and this is an enclosed Funicular. We had a Swiss Pass so the cost of the trip was half. However, the view of the mountain was spectacular and had great views of the glaciers. It was worth the time and the effort just for the view. It was exhilarating.

We visited Zermatt and rode the Gornergrat cogwheel train to get a closer view. It is spectacular on a clear day. We hear about the clouds rolling in but that did not happen for us. It was beautiful!
