The trail is well laid. That makes it easy walking for all seasons. It takes about 2hr one way until the restaurant Gletscher. To go back, you have to take the same way, if you feel tired, you can take the coach drawn by horses. You can reward yourself by havin some excellent dessert at the Restaurant Gletscher.

Makes an excellent hiking any time of the year and comes at their best in early October when the larches turn gold. Bewitching beauty with a spectacular backdrop of snowy mountain peaks.

We took a horse drawn carriage to the Valley which was very enjoyable. We passed through the Alpine forest after traveling through 7 km. the forest opened out to a wide valley which offers a great view of the glacier and the snowy mountains. We saw many hikers and bikers along the way. The air was fresh and smelt of pine and grass. There is a restaurant in the valley.

Val Roseg is lovely to explore by bike. Because it was a bit late and not too warm we didn't do the whole valley. Will do so the next time I 'll be back in Engiadina again.

Take a Coach to visit Val Roseg and enjoy a small lunch in the Restaurant on 2000 m.alt. Walking time is approx. 2 hours. You can also ride a mountainbike.

It is such an exceptional valley, in autumn it is just gold (from the Lerchen trees). You can either walk - passing the many birds which are eating out of your hands - take a bike form the hotel (e.g., Saratz) or horse-drawn carriage. The more you mount into the valley the more stunning it becomes, even though it starts very nice. When you pass the bridge where the little river starts really to fall, the valley opens up and you will see the stunning view on the glacier and the mountains. You will rest their, potentially staying at the nice restaurant Restaurant Roseg. Enojy!

What's not to like? A beautiful 7km walk or bike ride from Pontresina. You can stop or end at the restaurant, or continue on toward the glacier.

There's a very nice 2 hour walk along the river to get to the valley or you can take a carriage ride or bike. In the valley there are two great hikes, one on each side of it. There are mountain views and big glaciers and mountain huts to hike to where you can get a bite to eat. Best of all, there are no ski lifts and few people so it really feels like you are out in the mountains. There is a lift to Fuorlcla Surlej up from St. Moritz so you may meet some people coming down, but it's mainly just dizzying views of wild mountains.

A forty to fifty minute horse drawn carriage ride takes you into the Roseg Valley famous for its luxuriant Alpine vegetation. During the approximately five mile ride you pass lots of physically fit young and old Europeans enjoying the hiking and picnicking options. The view also includes lots of Alpine vegetation, Swiss pines, larch wood, cows and the ever present magnificent Roseg Glacier. Once you reach the end of the ride there's a restaurant with a very popular outside terrace where it is possible to sit for hours enjoying a coffee or cold drink while gazing at truly spectacular scenery. The ride back is just as enjoyable if you are seated behind the drive. On the ride up sit across from the driver to really enjoy the view of the glacier.

Being Swiss, I know: there are very few hikes as beautiful as hiking 1 1/2 hours into Val Roseg. You will see why.

Late August weekend with perfect weather. Great day to enjoy horse drawn carriage ride into the Val Roseg from Pontresina and we walked back (about 2 hour walk). Reserve the horse carriage ride, as you don't want to miss (+41 78 944 7555). Gorgeous scenery: forest, fields, stream, falls, mountains; all breathtaking. Photos can not do it justice. People enjoying hiking, biking, walking. We enjoyed refreshment at the restaurant Roseg Gletscher admired our surroundings and started our walk back to Pontresina. I would have liked to have hiked further up, but we ran out of time. This was a wonderful day.

We have hiked and skied up into the Roseg Valley many times. Always lovely. Go all the way up beyond the restaurant to the face of the glacier for a great experience.
