A very nice way to see some of Switzerland's attractions and sites. For my 3.5 years old son it was a great morning with the small models and specially the train that goes around the park.

Swiss Miniature is a visual delight. It is in Switzerland on a smaller scale. There are 130 models of houses, castles and monuments in the open air, distributed throughout the 14,000 square meter park. The models have been recreated authentically - with great attention to detail - and are surrounded by thousands of plants and flowers.since its models are surrounded by 15,000 flower species and over 1,500 trees. One can see all of the Switzerland be it historical buildings, monuments, castles, homes from different regions of Switzerland, mountains etc in mini scale. It is located near Lugano. You need 2-3 hours to see it.

Well laid out attraction. If coming via ferry from Lugano there is a lack of signage to find the place. But it is only a short walk. Once off the ferry and on land walk along the path beside the lake for a short way then you will see a car park on the right, detour through this to the roadway, turn left and a short way along on the left you will see the entrance. Tip! There are a set of toilets just below the roadway if needed before going in. Had a great time, seems they have covered all the sights of Switzerland including the bridges of Lucerne.

Great place fro small or grown ups. Everything is moving - trains, cars, boats, lifts. Worth spending 1-2 hours on the way to or from Switzerland. It is located in the beautiful Lugano city.

really great place expensive 18.00 swiss francs for adults. The staff at the entry was extremly grumpy. but it's a "to do" in Ticino

Well Maintained like the real Country. Everything is there from the Trains to the Cable Cars. Gave us lots of ideas for places we still need to see. Worth a Morning trip and then off on the Boat to Morcote for Lunch.

19 Francs entry fee is a joke, considering that there are very few new additions since my childhood. I remember the time when the entry was 2.50... I wonder what the many sponsors pay for, when the park doesn't get updated more frequently and entry fee isn't affordable for bigger families. Train ride, bumper cars cost extra and the restaurant is another rip off with terrible service. Not even the parking is free.

The small park is interesting for tourists and local people who want to have an overview over switzerland. The buildings are handmade and nice but sometimes a little old. The restaurant is not the best we have ever been to. I would also recommend it for families with children aged between 4-10. There is a family card available - because the prices are quite high.If you pass the region its a good choice for a short visit - if not you haven't missed out on too much.

We were staying in Lugano in April and got a boat to Melide to the Swissminiatur model village. If you have a Ticino card, the boat and Swissminiatur are free. We would definitely recommend the Ticino card - we found it very worthwhile. When you get off the boat, there are no signs to the model village. You need to turn right and walk for 15-20 minutes. The model village is large and includes very detailed models of many buildings, mountains and sites around Switzerland. There are working trains, cable cars, etc. There is a ride-on train that goes round the site, a shop and restaurant, although we chose to take a picnic. There was no problem eating our picnic at one of the outside tables. We have been to several model villages around Europe and this is one of the best. Although the models are not particularly recognisable to those not familiar with Switzerland, they are very impressive.

Expensive entrance and interesting only if you know the palces (no info). Everything is in quite bad conditions and would need a refresh. Bar inside is expensive and with awful service. Take a walk on the Melide bridge and take a brake in one of the small typical bars along the lake instead.

We had read about this park and imagined it to be similar to Cockington Green in Canberra.getting there was easy... A 30 minute train ride from bellinzona to melide and a 10 minute walk brought us to the swiss miniatur... Deceiving looks as one would expect perhaps an amusement park( atleast our kids thought so).Every recreation in a 'mini' form, the details, the details, thed etails.... Snow capped mountains, the mini trains that chug around continuously, the people atthe station, the beautiful castles, churches, the cog wheel train, the cable car..... Absolutely marvellous..A good insight into the various regions... Our plan to visit the castle at Thun fell through during our stay at Interlaken and seeing the mini version reinforced the disappointment!!!, the Thun castle should really be a part of the plan from Interlaken. The additional attractions for the kids are the dashing cars, both onland and water based rides, the mini train etc..Do wear your hats in summer though as towards mid march as its an open place and the sun can beoverbearing despite the chill in the air.A nice kids playground right outside the park in a residential area and a sports bar....All of us thoroughly enjoyed the swiss miniatur... An educational eperience for children 3 and above. Well maintained park..and friendly staff.... Seems to be the pride of Ticino...
