I spent a week in Norrkoping with some friends who live there and I will never forget the rushing water and the iron bridges; the classical architecture and textile mills that would look at home in New England; the parks and gardens. This is a special city with a lot of heart.

Walking around the Industrial Landscape of Norrköping and feeling the winds of history is very nice. The scenery is changing and Norrköping is a very nice town to stroll in. The landscape is beautiful with the stream running through!

This area is the result of careful restorations of the previous home of heavy industry. Textilemills, paperfactories and storagebarns now house museums, restaurants as well as the city concert hall!Well worth a stroll just for the water and architecture, but the museums and restaurants are also topnotch!

Since we live close to the Industrial Landscape we every week make at least one walk in this important part of the industrial history in Sweden. Here old factory Buildings has transformed into keeping students and new IT companies. There are also several nice restaurants and just close by Knappingsborg the Hackerser höfe of Norrkoping.

The museums are good and during the summer there is always something new to surprise you such as an outdoor concert, dance group, etc.. There are several restaurants in the area mostly good

Originally built as "serious" industrial construction, now it looks like entertaining and challenging nice landscape. A lot of water everywhere - under you and above you. You can walk for a couple of hours through paths, stairs, gates, tubes, old and modern buildings.

Norrköping har på ett fantastiskt sätt bevarat det gamla industrilandskapet där papperbruket var i centrum. Ett område som tidigare var stängt är nu öppet för allmänheten, där möjlighet finns att gå runt i landskapet, många gånger på gångvägar och gångbroar direkt vid strömmen. Campus Norrköping har gjort sitt till för att sätta prägel på industrilandskapet, med många studenter som förgyller miljön.

Ett stort område med nedlagda fabriker utefter Motala ström med sina vattenfall. Lokalerna används numera som konsertlokaler, universitetsutbildning, nya företag, mm.

Hela industrilandskapet med byggnaderna och vattnet gör det till ett väldigt trevligt promenadstråk. Något av en signatur för Norrköping och en av de finaste delarna att besöka.

Eftersom vi bor i en av grannstäderna återkommer vi till Norrköping regelbundet och väljer oftast att parkera vid industrilandskapet. Tack vare detta kan vi följa årstidernas skiftningar runt Motala Ström, hålla oss uppdaterade med pågående utställningar och kan kvista in på något av caféerna eller restaurangerna. Hela detta område inklusive Knäppingsborg är en mysig upplevelse på alla plan. Och glöm inte bort att kvista över till Moa Martinssons staty när ni ändå är i närheten, åtminstone om ni är litteraturhistoriskt intresserade.

Väl värt att besöka av både gamla och unga. Ett bevarat industrilandskap omgärdat av en kanal och vattenfall där man känner historiens vingslag.
