It is one of the most beautiful and amazing buildings in Poznan. The attention given to the details is unbelievable! You must also see the show on clock tower every 12 noon. A bit cheap but it has got its own climate

That's an amazing building with 16th century ornaments. There's a little show with mechanical goats at the clock in the top tower every day at 12, which gathers lots of tourists and locals around. There's also a museum inside that tells about history of Poznan a lot and also allows to enjoy the inside of the building. The museum is quite educating I should say, with lots of different expositions and paintings by Polish artists.

Those interiors (ceiling) are interesting. There is a museum exposition relative to the Poznań history. Only 8 PLN entrance ticket and you may see some paintings, memories of the Nazi occupation during WWII.

We were attending the wedding and went inside the Ratusz. It is a very nice, old buliding, definitely worth sight seeing.

Whole Old Square market is a beautiful place. After dark felt magical and very Christmasy.. I had to stop myself to not to take a picture of every single building there. Ratusz Poznański is a lovely centre of attention on the square. Photographed by me every time when I was passing by(just couldn't help myself lol)

Have a look round the back of the town hall, where you can see an extraordinary fountain with a dramatic statue of Proserpine being borne away - not altogether reluctantly, one suspects - by Pluto. It's lit up at night.

The town hall has an old-fashioned museum with quite reasonable content relating to the town - and most signs are translated into English. A nice way to spend an hour-and-half if you happen to be there. The most interesting thing for me were a number of books from 17th century and the posters and pictures from WWII.

It is situated in the middle of the Old Market. Definitely must go and see it at noon any day! Go there and check on your own what I'm talking about :p

Watching the Ratusz Poznanski's goats butt heads when the clock strikes on the hour is only one of the highlights of the experience. The other is watching the people visiting the square too. Along this side of the square are the artists along one wall. The square is getting more compact due to the numerous restaurants having outdoor cafes, which is also great for people watching.

The town hall is not the biggest one in Poland but it's beautifully refurbished and feature Poland's well-known ramming somersaults that ram every day at 12:00PM. It has been build on the verge of 14th century. The legend says that after the fire in the town it has been decided to restore the town hall and install a new beautiful clock. Preparations were made, many well know people were to come to visit and feast the occasion. The cook prepared roast but he so much wanted to see the new clock that he left the roasting meat - it burned completely. When he came back and saw it he went to the meadow to bring two somersaults for the meal but when they realized something's wrong they run away to the town hall and started ramming in front of all gathered people. The cook was not punished for what he has done but the new clock was equipped with somersaults insted.

The Ratusz (former city hall) was a Renaissance builting designed by the Italian architect Quadro. Toward the end of WW2 it was nearly levelled by Allied bombing and Soviet artillery. What one sees today is a not very scrupulous reconstruction. But, still, it gives a decent flavour of what the building must once have been like. Inside, there is the museum of the City of Poznan, which is worth a visit. The clock tower features two mechanical goats that butt heads each noon. There is also a trumpeter who heralds midday. Most days a small crowd gathers just before the Ratusz at about 11:55 to listen to the trumpeter and watch the goats.

The City Hall is a marvel in the middle of the quirky city of Poznań. Beautiful old construction saw different events from history of Poland. Was destroyed and reconstracted and the wonderful architecture now shine over the Old Market Square which itself is full of beautiful buildings. When you are with the kids,go before 12pm. They can have fun watching the goats emerging over the clock. Then you can visit the museum of Polish history and see how the times changed, from greatiest Kings to the lows in the second War. Walking aroud the Square you can sit down in a coffee, eat and drink, and simply enjoy the sight.
