You'll be steeped in history in a second. Many famous people gave spent time there: Roosevelt, Queen Geraldine, etc etc. Not to miss!

The library is just beautiful! Lovingly restored and looked after. The librarian is very enthusiastic and clearly loves taking people around the place. They also organise some events in the library, which we sadly, missed.I wish I could just sit there for a day enjoying all the lovely books!Definitely worth visiting!

The visit of the reconstructed library left a deep impression in us and stirred emotions and hope for the future. Especially as we, Czechs and Slovakians can often be very pessimistic about our abilities and assets. It was just awesome to follow the guide and initiator of the restoration in one, and realize that something that seemed almost impossible unfolds before your eyes. A must-go place both for foreign tourists and patriots!!! Cements faith in humans, culture and the importance of values, both old and new in Modern times.... sorry for sounding too cheesy...

We were staying over the weekend in the hotel, the hotel is completely renovated, nicely furnished, service was very good. We were happy with the stay, although it was not very good weather, strong winds blew in Oponice. We also visited the famous library, it was really beautiful, and even though we were still in one room, the guide was very engaging interpretation, and we spent an hour there. Definitely worth to see it.

You can see more than 14 000 of books, some of them rare, beautiful wooden library, worth to see. Library is located directly in the castle.

Really amazing and unique place with great guide Mr. Králik. There is so much to say about this chateau in small Slovak village. I just loved it!

This is a must see if you are near Nitra. The library itself contains over 17,000 books, many original versions from writers like Moliere, Boticelli or Machiavelli! The tour takes about 40 minutes but feels like 5 since the guide does a perfect job and even people who don't exactly like museums will be amazed. He knows every inch of the place in detail and has devoted his life to this library and the château(he's been working on it since 1992 and helped renovate it from ruins). What's really interesting is that you if make an appointment you can read any book you like, free of charge(some are as old as 500 years and handwritten)! This was really a great experience and the adjacent restaurant has a lot to offer, as well. Definitely worth a separate trip!

State run library, fantastic old book selection from Leonardo da Vinci to Shakespeare, Goethe, Schiller or Mollet, you'll find it here. The librarian was very enthusiastic but there is a charge of 6 Euro per person, worthwhile though just to see this beautiful room
