it's gorgeous, well kept, nicely restored. Nice to have a walk around. Too bad there are cars parked, but I guess it's inevitable. So the rating unaffected :)

A beautiful, neat square with bohemian charm. Every building is a different pastel colour which is typical for Czech squares. Great place to spend a few hours checking out the little shops and cafes.

I admit, I'm a huge fan of square squares with nothing in the middle to obstruct the square-ness and picturesque beauty. Yes, maybe I'm weird, but Ceske Budejovice's square really fits the bill. It's beautiful, day or night. I've been to a LOT of square in the Czech Republic, and this one is definitely in the top five. Maybe in the top two. Prague and Olomouc are gorgeous, but they're not so classically square and open. Telc has beautiful buildings, but it's long and skinny. Novy Jicin--a small town in north Moravia--is my other favorite.

I have visited this city a few times and this square is really the place to be. I like the cafe/restaurant Vendetta most. Especially in summer this place is a great place to relax.

Main square of Budweis, picturesque and some side alleys to discover. Walk around, enjoy a café and the fountain and breath the town.

Beautiful town square, with some amazing frescos and architecture. A few cafes and restaurants surrounding. Seemed quiet on our visit. Nearby park and river. Close to bus depot and train station. Good place for some artistic photo shots.

Large, beautiful square with plenty of photo ops. Definitely worth a stop. Wish I had arrived earlier in the day to be able to access some of the square's buildings (i.e. Church of the Virgin, Municipal hall). Close to many other sites worth visiting.

It's a very beautiful square, with a regular form and full of restaurants and pubs. From here you can see all the attraction of Ceske.

We just love taking coffee or a beer on the square - there are so many different bars and cafes to choose from. The square is dominated by the Black Tower on one side and the Samson Fountain in the middle of the square, which is a popular meeting place. We never tire of looking at the pastel coloured, highly individual, buildings around the square and enjoy watching locals and tourists as they wander through the square. One of the most calming places that we have visited on our travels!

Huge town square (if anything it's too big) with reasonably prices restaurants and some shops, although away from the main shopping area. Some people have said it would be better without cars, but I don't like pedestrianized areas in other cities that have no life in them. Having the edge of the square as a road and car park may detract from the looks but keeps it as an active place to go.

Ceske Budejovice is known for its beer, brewed since the thirteenth century. I know this town square as a place of magnificent architecture, tranquility, good food and great shopping. A hidden gem.

Beautiful and most of all - huge. Yet, despite its size, this square is not overwhelming, it's not a still-standing monument, but a city part full of life. I greatly enjoyed the pleasure of walking through it day or night, and the pleasure of watching people enjoying it.

Theres a stone hidden (okay, blended) in with the stones that if you walk over it after 9pm, you'll lose your way home! The Samson fountain is gorgeous and worthy of postcard photographs.

I really enjoyed the relaxed character of the town square in Budweis. The design of the square is typical of many Czech towns. It was clean, had enough bars, ice cream stands and cafes to laze around and people watch :)

A magnificent city square, with nice statue and beautiful buildings all around it (including the famous Zvon hotel). Several nice cafes and bars. The only downside is the trafiic, if the square was pedestrianized, it would compete to be the most beautiful city square in Europe.
