Both the Temple and the Theatre are very well preserved, the Temple is close to the entrance of the site, whereas the Theatre is a bit of a climb ... During warmer weather, since there is no shade, it could be prudent to rather take the bus from the base of the complex, up to the theatre, rather than walk. It is not a short walk, and no places to take a break in the shade. The view from the Theatre area towards the surrounding hills is breathtaking. A nice view is also offered in the area of the Temple. The place is very quiet ... it has a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

It is a good 20 minute walk to reach the Teatro or you can take a minibus ( payable ) the views are fantastic.

The most beautiful Greek theater in Sicily in my opinion. The site on top of a hill so breath taking but it is also very well preserved. The final row of seats have back rests and arm rests too a feature not found in other Greek theaters on the island. Get an extra ticket in the gift shop for a shuttle which will bring you up.Part are wheelchair assessable and you can request to drive up.

If you happen to come close to this site you must pay a visit this site. With a ticket of about 8 euros you can visit the site of the teatre and the temple near the entrance.The teatre still have its acustics quality, try to stand and speak where actors were supposed to play.The teatre is some minutes walk from the entrance. Have a nice walk on the hills to come there or with 1.5 euros you can get the site with a bus from the entrance.

Condition of this site is remarkable. Well worth the visit. Nothing I disliked about this outing. Would recommend taking the bus to the site as the climb can be taxing on a summer day.

The theatre is, like the temple, beautifully located and quite well preserved. From within the theatre you have magnificent panorama views. Just imagine how a theatre show there must have been! On the walk up to or down from the theatre, you also have unique views of the temple and its placing in the landscape, which is a good side-reason to make the trip to the theatre. Do at least the trip up or down to the theatre on foot. Doing both with the shuttle bus you will miss out on the opportunity to take some great photos of the temple.

For a small additional fee go up the hill on the bus (or walk if you have time) to see this fascinating theatre with breathtaking views back to the Mediterranean.

Stayed nearby and so arrived before crowds. Bus ride up is worthwhile, we walked down. Teatro and other ruins in good condition. You can only go up once, so see everything you wish to. Beautiful expansive views from the hilltop.

very interesting historical site. One just wonders how it must have been thousands of years ago when the theatre was in use. The views are beautiful up here. Do take an umbrella in winter as there is no shelter.

We got the bus here from Trapani and it was a wonderful experience. Despite the low cloud and drizzle we spent several hours walking around and absorbing all the history and imagining how it would have been all those years ago. It's worth spending time wandering around the whole site, not just on the top of the platform looking down. There's so much more to explore and read about on the information panels. From the Teatro walk back down towards the Temple below and you will find more sites of interest, including cave dwellings.

At Toarmina and Siracusa, you would be able to see their own versions of Amphitheatres. Here, at Segesta, you get to see its own too. They are all spectacular with different perspectives. This is a more challenging hike than the temple nearby but both places are worth visiting. A friend of mine said that in summer time, he would drive to the other side of the landmarks, and he would get himself a nice bottle of wine and he would sit there and enjoy the moment, where the past and the present meets. Commendable visit.

The theater is one of the two main sights at Segesta. It may have the most dramatic setting of any Greek theater. It is cut into the rock face of the top of the mountain, but it's the view of the countryside that the spectators would have had that is astounding. The rolling hills, valleys, clouds - just amazing. I would recommend taking the shuttle bus to the top of the hill. Costs 3 Euro if I remember correctly. It's quite a hike to walk up and although I saw a number of people doing it, they did appear to be laboring. We opted to walk down the hill, not on the road, but down the hillside. The footing was a little dicey, but it's not that long. The shuttle cost is for round trip, but we just wanted to walk.

One of the best preserved/reconstructed theaters I saw. Take a look at the satellite photos of it before you go to really appreciate how much of it there is.
