Well, it is like many baroque churches in Italia and Sicilia, so it is nice, but nothing unusual. The setting is on a hillside with streets on either side and a plaza at the base of the church where there are a few restaurants and room for kids to whack soccer balls agains glass office windows. Between church and streets on either side are two mini parks that are quite lovely.

It was only a short stop on the way to Agrigento. Coz is so fantastic Town, completely rebuilt after the earthquake and is divided into two parts. At the top of the hill. The impressive baroque buildings and churches. It is nice uphill walk in to the centre.

Stunning little place once more. One of the most quiet Duomos we have seen in Sicily and yet so magnificant. Take a walk up the stairs of St.Giorgio Cathedral and sit on the top of them... its the most beautiful view on the square and there is something that cannot be explained by words of how does it make you feel. Just beautiful!

One of the most stunning cathedrals we have seen so far in Sicily! Is baroque details and elements are what leaves you speechless, on a building of this size, it looks so surreal! Unfortunately it was closed that day due to doors painting so we couldnt enter inside, but what we saw from the outside left an impression deep enough. Its position makes it a huge guardian of the whole Duomo, like a great baroque soldier standig there and keeping it all magnificent around! So good to be there. At least sit on the top of the stairs in front of the Cathedral and watching on the Duomo from above, amazing.

delightful baroque church, fantastic views and all in all a lovely town. watch out for opening hours - later in the day than you might anticipate.

The Feste, the Chiesa, the piazza, the help from people in the crowds. the whole experienceNothing to dislike

The building is beautiful but the idea of creating a compass and clock based on the sunlight through the dome is fascinating. Somehow I don't expect dragons all over a Catholic church but these are right at home.

This is the place to be surrounding by baroque architecture - and also plenty of cafe's and bars! Although Ragusa Ibla is full of churches and cathedrals the piazza is dominated by the one to view.

The front doors to Duomo di San Giorgio are not normally opened unless an church event is happening. The front steps are great exercise as is everything in Ragusa. Watching the elderly locals walk these stairs is sight to behold...many years of practice!!!

elegant baroque facade and highly decorated interior. Happened to be there on the feast of St. Giorgio. This made the visit especially memorable

We were lucky enough to be there during Easter, when they open the great gates for the Procession. Brilliant sight.

Never managed to find it open but the outside was gorgeous and we had excellent ice cream sitting in the square looking at it.
