NPR says Lampedusa is being overwhelmed with refugees from Libya and other north African countries. Now may not be a good time to visit.

We visited the beach in January, so there was empty and quiet. Need to go quite far down, so to return back must have the strength to climb up again. The descent not adapted for disabled. The place is with white sand and stunning views of the sea

A place which will remain in your memory, but don't go in the middle of August. Far too many people! Remember to bring with you everything you might need, you won't find anything there, except for the incredible beauty of the beach. And be ready for quite a long walk!

The problem with this astonishing and beautiful place is that when you have made all your way down the hill, you may reach an embarrassing amount of tourists on the small sandy beach even on october or maybe november. Stray dogs complete this poor scene and nothing can the people of Legambiente to make tourist more comfortable here. Their effort are really precious instead for Caretta Caretta, whose nest are well protected. From stray dogs too, I hope.

The beach is beautiful but very disappointed with stray dogs that barked a lot and bother 7 all the time and lots of topless ladies which was very inappropriate. Disappointed with that but loved the beach. Wearing tennis shoes is a must.

This beach is one of the reasons we went to Lampedusa. We were'nt dissapointed. It's great that it is part of a managed eco system, with indiginous plants being grown to compliment the area, and of course the laying site of the turtles. (This is why you can only have umbrellas on one part the beach). I consider myself reasonably fit, and would say it took around 15 minutes each way to climb up and down (dont forget to take everything with you water, suncream etc, as there are no facilities on the beach- not even a toilet). There is a nice cafe at the top, serving drinks and lunch at reasonable prices. Please don't be put off the glory that is Rabbit beach, because of the climb. Even if you only go down halfway to the viewing platform, it is awesome.

Aquamarine colours, clarity and calmness of the water are unbelievable! Beautiful soft sand. No seaweed, shells, stones. Just pure sand on sea bottom. Umbrella-free section for sun seekers. Can walk quite far in the water before it gets deep. Though no facilities right at the beach, great little cafe at the start of the 15 minute hike down to the beach. Easy wide hike with views, occasional benches. Cafe will rent umbrellas that you can take down. No development whatsoever by the beach. Daily clean-up of the beach by environmental volunteers keeps beach pristine.

The path to the beach is really long and tiring, but it is rewarding to reach there, it is really charming beachthe sea is shallow and white bluish water is really great

Wow!! It's a kinda long walk down (and up when you go home), but so worth while!! GO HERE if you are visiting Lampedusa, you cannot miss it!

The water is crystal clear and not very deep. Great for snorkeling. We swam from our boat into the cove and were not anywhere near the people on the beach. The sand is delicious and you can see the wildlife swim near you. BEAUTIFUL.

We came to rabbit beach expecting one of the top two beaches on Earth but I couldn't see what made it better than other places in Lampedusa or in fact some of the beaches along the south coast of Sicily, the colour of the water is spectacular but thats the same all around Lampedusa. I'd recommend finding your own place by the sea, take a quad or scooter and go explore the island, avoid the crowd!

Rabbit beach is paradise on earth. I'd recommend renting a scooter whilst in Lampedusa, as it's the easiest and best way to get around the little island. Rabbit beach is about a 10 minute scooter ride from the centre and then about a 10 minute walk down to the beach. As you walk down towards the beach you come to a vantage point over looking the beach, and the views are just breathtaking. The sand is golden, the water is crystal clear and there are plenty of fish so definitely bring a snorkel, as i spent hours swimming and exploring this truly beautiful place. The only negative was there were quite a lot of jellyfish, so you need to be vigilant.

The beach is fantastic. The views and the colors are just unbelievable. However, lampedusa is quite difficult for non italian tourists. People do not speak english and there is not much to do.
