The museum contained boats, equipment, nets, anchors and lots of interesting labeled pictures. We wandered for over 2 hours after watching the b/w movie filmed during the big catch in 1931.

This is a beautifully designed museum that gives you a real insight into the Mattanza. Our guide was great and the film of the Mattanza compulsive viewing.

I love the Museum for a number of reasons:1) Its amazingly beautiful setting2) the history and architecture of the building3) the freshness of the exhibition4) the history of tuna fishing, with the mesmerizing chants, the industrial packaging lines5) the lovely walled courtyard garden

An amazing way to get acquainted with the old ways of fishing tuna, now that industrial ships are depleting the seas. The past in front your eyes, now that we do not have any future.

We really enjoyed our visit to the tuna factory. There were only Italian speaking guides and the descriptions are mostly in Italian as well, but the image and movie speak for itself. What a massive undertaking this must have been. The museum is so much more than a dry inventory of the tuna fishing, but it really brings the place alive with the video projections.

I walked from the Porto to the Tonnaro. It is an easy walk...pretty much flat the entire way. It was a lovely day for taking pictures of the Porto and the Tonnaro. I really got lost in the beauty of the old iron gates, old boats, trees and architecture. It is a real jewel of Favignana. I tried to imagine this place in the time when it was in full operation. They've done a great job preserving the building, boats, etc. It's worth an afternoon stoll with your camera and an imagination!

The Tonnara Florio (later Parodi) is now transformed into a museum, which shows effectively all the processing of the tuna fish, from fishing to shipping the tins. Explanations are interesting and complete. There is a nice sections with "live" interviews to former workers.

un bel sito , recente e ben organizzato. mostra un pezzo di storia dell'isola con le gigantografie dei lavoratori dell'epoca affisse nelle sale. imponenti gli scivoli in cui facevano entrare le barche cariche di tonni direttamente dal mare allo stabilimento. il museo è aperto fino a tardi quindi è possibile andarci nel tardo pomeriggio prima di cena, si trova al fondo della spiaggia più vicina al centro dell'isola. interessante

Una ristrutturazione davvero imponente e bellissima l'idea della sala multimediale con le registrazioni dei racconti "dal vivo"di chi ha vissuto la tonnara ancora attiva. Molto brava la nostra guida, una signora del posto, che ci ha fatto fare un viaggio nel tempo tra le vicissitudini della famiglia Florio e la storia della tonnara....per un attimo mi è sembrato di sentire le voci e vedere la filiera lavorare ancora a pieno ritmo.

Luogo meraviglioso in cui si può rivivere l'atmosfera della tonnara quando era nel nel pieno della sua attività. Guide molto chiare nello spiegare la mattanza e l'intera lavorazione del tonno, fino al confezionamento.

L'indimenticabile visita alla Tonnara Florio di Favignana rimane impressa nel cuore. Sembra di essere catapultati nel periodo in cui era attiva e funzionante, guidati in un percorso che va dalla manifattura delle latte, alla pesca e preparazione del tonno. Si passa dalle barche alle reti fino alla parte multimediale davvero interessante.

Воспользовавшись свободным временем на Фавиньяне, решили заглянуть на Тоннару. Не стали дожидаться гида, купили билет за 10 евро и пошли все осматривать сами ( хотя, несомненно, с гидом было бы еще интереснее). Честно сказать, до посещения этого места, я мало что знала и представляла о ловле и производстве тунца, несмотря на то, что в Италии достаточно тоннар, правда, которые давно уже не функционируют. Однако, это первая, которая мне попалась и представляет собой музей, а также раз в год спускает лодки на воду для отлова тунца после его нерста, поддерживая, таким образом, историческую традицию. На территории комплекса представлен ряд помещений, позволяющих представить каждый этап в этом нелегком труде. Огромные лодки, выходящие непосредственно в море, огромные котлы, где ошпаривалась рыба, после отлова, тачки, которыми ее перевозили, всевозможные банки разных размеров и диаметров, в которые женщины раскладывали разделанную рыбу. Есть залы с множеством исторических фотографий, а так же комната, где можно посмотреть короткий черно-белый фильм, иллюстрирующий весь процесс ловли рыбы и, так называемую, комнату смерти, которую создавали рыбаки сетью для рыбы сближающимися кораблями. Место просто дышит историей и является, пожалуй, знаковым на острове Фавиньяна. По-сути, обязательно к посещению.

La modalità di presentazione della tonnara ci ha piacevolmente spiazzati. La presentazione di zu' Peppe e la ragazza che ci accompagna nella visita, ti portano a percepire il pensiero di coloro che hanno creato è fatto grande questo posto. Ti portano in braccio a una cultura che incontra più religioni e che appare mediterranea prima che italiana.

Non si può non visitare la Tonnara se siete a Favignana.Per metà ristrutturata e aperta al pubblico da solo un anno,ricca di elementi che descrivono quello che era la quotidianità nel periodo di mattanza.Molto suggestiva la stanza con gli oleogrammi sonori, dove personaggi locali(dall'ultimo Rais alle donne che lavoravano in stabilimento) raccontano il loro lavoro presso la Tonnara.Consiglio di affidarsi alle guide,molto preparate!!
