Loved the architecture, the arts, the history. Cannot understand why the locals would want to ruin such a lovely city with graffiti on almost every surface! I am sure that if you stood still long enough you would be spray painted!! Too many shops with overpriced goods, too many beggars, too many rude Italians looking to screw you at the first opportunity and with a rudeness and arrogance which shows their lack of appreciation to tourists who provide them with a living! Will not be returning to Italy!

The bridge gives nice views along the waterfront of the city of Florence with opportunities to visit the gold shops on the bridge.

Florence is a very beautiful city. By walking there, you can see many things. Look at the beautiful architecture. Walk across the river to have a very nice view. If you are hungry, you can have amazing Italian food in one of the restaurants around. Do not go to Italy without eating Gelato!!!

There are so many places to visit and see when in Florence. This is a great way to spend an hour or more walking. There are too many restaurants, shops, and thing to see. You can sped an hour there or several if you like to see everything.

Fo to Florence and let the art and buildings inspire you and change your life -- for the better, of course! It's worth your while to know more about the buildings and the paintings (who is in it and why?). It will make your visit so more interesting! Look on the internet for interesting documentaires about the The Medici or read a book about them.

The central parts of Firenze are amazing. If you don't mind walking you can see all of it. Be sure you walk on BOTH sides of the river hopefully crossing the Ponte Vecchio

I don't know if it was because we were there 2 days before Christmas but it was soooo crowded! We couldn't even walk and not to mention the bridge! Crazy but a must see.

My most anticipated citytrip ever didn't disappoint with its beautiful historical center. Beautiful buildings and monuments, countless eyecatchers. Fifth star is missing because the center misses some atmosphere... Difficult to sit somewhere and just enjoy for a while as life is just to chaotic here.

The Centro Storico, or Historic Center, is truly at it's core the heart of Florence. It is here, in this district, that any tourist can truly see a full and complete cross section of Italian life. The rich, shopping at the expensive boutiques on and around the Ponte Vecchio. The middle class, doing what they can to walk from point a to point b and make their living. The unwealthy, selling (or attempting to sell) their gosh darn selfie sticks to anyone who passes by and may want to snap a picture. All surrounded by a historic district of Florence. Historic buildings. Historic artifacts housed in museums and all around you. Yes, it's crowded. Even in low season when we went, it was mobbed. But the fact remained that it was a must-visit to a beautiful area. Even if all you do is walk from one side of the bridge to the other, you've seen it. It may get lost in the pure amazement that accompanies walking across the Ponte Vecchio, but when you take time to think about that area, you'll remember it fondly and well for the rest of your life.
