I moved to the tiny hamlet of Schweich back in 2007, and have since visited hundreds of family and corporate wineries in the Mosel region. Dirk and his family, the niche they've carved out here, represent the excellence Mosel wines are famous for... and they do so very well. Marmann-Schneider has a massive following locally, the restaurant and wine tasting venue being superlative of family winemaking and hospitality. I cannot say enough about the people, and the sparkling wine they produce is unsurpassed in the region. I know, my wife drinks none other now. I urge anyone visiting the region to visit.
