This tower has substantial history dating back to the 11th century. Most of it is visibly explained in this museum. The visitors become acquainted with almost 10 centuries of history. The tower is certainly worth the effort climbing to the top. To preserve its original design there is no elevator while the stairs are narrow. Suggested is to choose a quiet moment, one need some time to read most or part of the explanations. There are four levels with an open terrace on top of the tower, providing splendid views over the city, surroundings area, and Rhine.

Man darf kein riesiges Burgmuseum erwarten. Es ist aber schönes, mit großem Sachverstand und Freude am Thema eingerichtetes Museum. Wer bis ganz oben hinauf steigt, wir mit einem großartigen Blick über das Rheintal belohnt.
