Honestly to say I expected much more from this garden, at least regarding the size. The garden can be walked around in maybe 15 mins, but of course you also take some time to enjoy the nature and drink a cup of tea with a tasty cake offered in a tiny cafe. However, the place is quite and pieceful, you can feed the huge fish in the pound, watch nice plants and simply relax. I visited Japanischer Garten in July, unfortunately many flowers already finished blossoming, so better go there in spring! For such a tiny town as Kaiserslautern it's surely a big achievement, but for experinced travellers probably just another park with Japanese spirit ;)

This is a nice place to go for an hour or two. I have been to many Japanese Gardens so in my opinion this was not the best compared to some others I have seen but it is still a nice place to go. They have the largest coy fish I have every seen in the pond. Get some food from the ticket booth and feed them. That was fun.

Relaxing and quite place to either put your thoughts in order or hang out with friends. Bring you camera, because the place is amazing, despite small. There is a lake with fishes which come very close to you. Lots of trees and benches where you can just sit and enjoy the nature. Strongly recommend to go there if you pass by Kaiserslautern. During the week is a little bit cheaper and also they have evening pass from 16p.m. . It's closed during the winter, so is important to check before going if they are opened.

The gardens are laid out in a beautiful style. Easily accessible for all, although some of the paths are quite steep. When we visited there was the opportunity to take part in Japanese calligraphy, sample Japanese snacks and buy fabrics. Good for an hour or so visit. However, the garden is not well signposted and the recommended car park is a 300m walk on the opposite side of a dual carriageway. Entry to gartenschau and this Japanese garden are cheaper together.

Having just moved here from Japan, we were happy to spend an afternoon here and enjoy the serenity. They have done a good job of making you feel separate from the city but it is convenient to downtown. I though the admission price a bit steep but I know all that plant grooming can't come cheap! Wish the tea house was functional. Well worth a visit.

An oasis of peace and tranquility in the town center. Luckily all the Rhododendron were in bloom when I visited so it was beautiful. I imagine Spring and Autumn are the best times to visit. Nice walkway and lovely water features. Small enough that you can see it all in an hour or linger and enjoy the peace. Was hoping for a real tea house as opposed to the snack area with a few flavored teas. Overall a worthwhile experience.

Especially it is perfect in autumn.. It must be seen in spring too.. I live in Kaiserslautern and I think it's best place I have ever seen here

I was not expecting to find a Japanese Garden while visiting a friend in Kaiserslautern. It was a wonderful place to wander around for an hour or so - lots of flowers, plants, and trees, walking around water features, etc. Very well laid out, and a nice, relaxing spot to sit for a little while. Plenty of prime picture taking spots are also available.Make sure you look for the HUGE Koi in the pond! Two of them are the biggest fish I've ever seen outside of an aquarium!

I just recently visited this tourist attraction and it was very scenic and upkept. What i didn't like so much was that it took maybe 15 minutes to walk through the entire garden and it was full of trees, flowers, and plants. It was also somewhat crowded as well due to the nice weather.

Haves lived in Japan this garden is beautiful. Visited beginning of April and the cherry blossoms where still blooming. Great place to relax in the middle of a busy town relaxing and nice views of down town k-town. Worse the visit also perfect for photographers.

The Japanese Garden is a lovely place to come and relax and wander through the small park-like grounds. However, it's hard to think of this as a tourist attraction, per se, except for those wanting to sit among the plants and chill out. As a resident with an inexpensive annual pass, I like to come here and have a tea at the well-priced snack stand. Otherwise, a visit would take about 30 minutes max so it would depend on if the visitor wanted to spend the entrance fee for that. I probably wouldn't bring guests here as we could enjoy nature in a similar experience in the woods, but I do enjoy visiting as a city resident wanting to make a quick escape from the bustle of town. It's quite relaxing to watch the koi in the pond.

The Japanese Garden in Kaiserslautern is a calm and beautiful place on the hill facing the downtown. You can wander around, sit and relax or just admire the outlook of and from the place. As the admission fee is peanuts, Japanischer Garten is definitely worth a visit.

Japanese Garden is a small garden built in Japanese style and has lots of artificial water falls and a small pond which has plenty of Koi fishes. Animal lovers will love the radiant fishes and ducks in the pond. The Koi fishes are very friendly and one can feed them the fish food which you can buy at ticket counter. The main attraction are the fishes and the water falls. The fishes are very huge in size and is possible to touch them and rub their scales gently. Then there is a small wooden room made as meditation place which is very peaceful. Only thing I wish is that the garden were a little larger in its size, nevertheless is a great place to visit in Kaiserslautern on any sunny day.
