This was interesting though the show was only in German while others could read the leaflets and try to follow the guide. Can be too obvious for those who know how to make mustard but for others it may become an experience. Mustard on sale had a bit too much vinegar. But you can taste any variation and choose your favourite.

I love the atmosphere of this city center and the wonderful lattice it has everywhere. The place abounds in restos, bars and other shops and I couldn't stop gushing deep inside with the beauty it possesses.

Lots of different mustard flavors; if you wash the pots and bring them along when revisiting they will refill with the flavors you choose.

Old mustard mill that gives samples of its various kinds. Fairly easy to take home, and really authentic.

We had bought a voucher for this mustard mill and museum through our hotel. They only have guided tour 3 times per day and only in German! Why? We arrived 10 minutes after but could hear the guide on the other side of the door to factory hall.We had hoped we could join it anyway and fair enough if we could not but the only message from the German woman at the counter was KEINE MEHR! While her arm gesture signaled that it was absolutely too late and not up to discussion, which we never intened. The mustard mill is also a shop and you can taste the mustard but we was neither welcomed in the shop nor invited to taste. If you need to buy mustard I guess this place is ok if you know what you want - customer help and guidance is unknown here.

Walked in at 17h40, about 20 minutes prior to closing. They did their best to get me out of the shop as soon as possible while trying to let me buy as much as possible. Don't go there unless you're a fan of mustard. And even then.

I really liked this place. The mustard is really nice. Lots to look at and well worth a visit if your'e in Cochem-Cond.

True, the mustard is excellent. It is enough to stop at a shop there and buy it. The "tour" is a visit to one room and being shown two pieces of machinery. On top of that, it is done only in German. I do understand some but this was too technical. So do not bother to pay the admission, just taste the mustard in a shop and buy if you like.

Taste testing the variety of mustards was interesting, but schedule your visit so you can take a tour.

We enjoyed the shop and the mustard was out of this world.....BUT, the "tour" was only offered in German. We weren't told this until after we paid. Pictures were not allowed inside and the owner was very hateful. very disappointing.

The selection of various Mustards was rather unusual. Reisling Mustard and Curry Mustar to name but two. Worth a visit

I have been to Cochem four times and love the Mosel Valley.Every time I go to the shop at Historische Senfmuehle to buy mustard for myself and for presents. The mustard is very good but also expensive. The quality and the story makes it all worth to buy.

I was on a tour of Cochem. It is just across the river from the town square. An easy walk across the river and down some stairs. I didn't have time for tour. They give free samples. I bought some for myself and gifts. We love the different flavors. I would have liked to take the tour. This is a true mustard of the region. Not a tourist place just good mustard. Take the time you will be glad you did. I heard about it from the Rick Steves's books.

This 'tour' is in one room, in which the (working) mill is shown, and it is explained how the mustard is made. Relaxed tour, takes about only 20 min, but that's enough. The presentation is in German, but we were given additional information in Dutch, which was helpful. And because I can also speak quite some German, I could tell that the Dutch translation was a pretty good copy of what the guide was telling (unlike what a recent reviewer from Canada concluded, although she admitted not speaking German). The mustards sold in the shop are very nice! You can also do a tasting.Note: This mill is from the same owners as the one in Cologne, and they sell the same mustards. So if you've taken the tour in Cologne, don't do this one :).

Because we're staying so close we visited the historic mill. My husband, the foodie, loved sampling th different mustards. However, you do not need the "tour" for this. The tour was being taken into 1 room and shown the process. Being that we didn't speak German, we had to read a paper copy, but it didn't match the presenter. I was interesting to see, but cold have been done over 3 min, instead of 30. Go for the mustard, but skip the tour.
