A great view on a sunny day. This huge stone building sitting atop a hill offers great views of the region. The tower is surrounded by wine fields and at the landmark itself there are benches, trash receptacle, and two spots for a bon fire in front of the building. There are walking trails on the top of the ridge to the monument leading to trails heading into the woods. The downside of this landmark is that there are no placards or information as to the history of this site, so one needs to do a little homework to find out that is was built in the honor of empire founder Otto von Bismarck. The landmark is supposedly open from spring through the fall, but no specific hours/days could be located and the entrance fee should be only a couple of euros. It was not open during my visit.

I did not find the tower particularly interesting, but the view from that place is beautiful. I think I had to pay sth to get on the top. In the summer there are sometimes parties and bonfires at the bottom of the tower.
