Finally, Ulm has a proper art gallery!! The gallery is spacious, well laid out, with friendly staff. It is also child friendly!!

Mr Weishaupt must have had a good taste in art and I felt privileged to see a collection of masterpieces he had chosen. Rothko, Haring, Warhol, to name just a few, all housed in a resolutely modern sleek building in an otherwise uninteresting (except for its cathedral) war-ravaged town of Ulm. The Weishaupt museum alone is worth a detour.

I really like the modern architecture with clear lines and structures in which businessman and art collector Siegfried Weishaupt presents the works of modern art he has collected over the years: Josef Albers, Imi Knoebel, Warhol, Basquiat, Rothko, Rauschenberg, Nam June Paik, Keith Haring, Tony Cragg, Robert Longo... The exhibitions change approximately every year, until May 2014, they show a retrospective of Hans Peter Reuters work. The Kunsthalle is connected to the Ulmer Museum, it is worth to get a ticket for both museums.

I had the opportunity to visit this museum in august and I'm glad I did because I was impressed from the outside of the building and surroundings to the extraordinary collection inside which includes artists like Andy Warhol, Dan Flavin, Willem de Kooning, Kenny Scharf and many others

ulm is a very old city, but has some ultramodern aspects ,toothe weishaupt museum - € 6 entrance fee - is a foundation of the weishauptfamily. mostly modern american art : warhol,pollock, lichtenstein, rothko etc etc

MoMa, Tate modern und Co lassen grüßen! In der Kunsthalle kann man in ungewöhnlich ruhiger Atmosphäre, ganz ungestört absolute Highlights der modernen Kunst genussvoll auf sich wirken lasse. Grandiose Architektur, es lohnt sich schon allein wegen dem Gebäude.

Se destaca por ser um dos poucos prédios modernos na cidade que é extremamente antiga. Não entrei no museu, mas por fora é interessante de se ver.

Die Kunsthalle Weishaupt wurde 2008 eröffnet und beherbergt eine imposante Privatsammlung moderner Kunst. Die authentische Privatsammlung zeitgenössischer Kunst zeigt eine große Zahl herausragender Werke von der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts bis in die unmittelbare Gegenwart. Aktuell wird die Sammlung „Auf den zweiten Blick“ ausgestellt: Über 50 Arbeiten aus den Bereichen Malerei, Skulptur, Fotografie und Lichtkunst von der Mitte der 60er Jahre bis in die Gegenwart erstrecken sich auf 1.300 qm Ausstellungsfläche. Für Liebhaber von moderner Kunst ein Muss!
