Just stroll around the outside, It's the architecture & the statues that are spaced through the side areas of this building that are amazing. It was near closing time so we didn't have time to view the interior.

Building is a marvel from the outside. Costs 3 euro to enter. To be honest there's not much to see inside. There are 7 rooms in total but can be done in 15 minutes. Nothing really special inside.

Here was exposed initially the lance of LONGINUS the roman centurion who pierced the body of JESUS with his lance ,which was made from libian cedar cover with gold.During the second war,the lance was moved in VIENNA,due to fear of HITLER.The lance is now in HOFBURG PALACE WIEN.

The building is very tall, and it's square-shaped front makes it look imposing. On the front there's statues of various German kings through the ages. Inside has tourist information at the front desk. Further inside, there's some large halls to inspect and paintings of old German personalities.

This was not what we expected. Where we come from Local council buildings are not real place to visit but this Rathaus has a display of the history. It is well worth the visit as it does reveal some of Aachen's history very interestingly. I love the large paintings and the fact that a wedding was happening whilst we were there.

I'm still in awe. This building is huge and the architectural design is simply fascinating. I didn't know it was the city hall, I thought maybe its a national historical museum but it might as well be because of its incredible design. Too bad we didn't get to see the inside but outside and having my picture taken in the centre of this building is all worth it. :)

Aachen is a beautiful city full of history. The architecture is simply amazing, right in the middle of the city square. Christmas time is a great time of year to visit because of the Christmas Market rated second best in Europe.

Rebuilt form the original Charlemagne palace, its beautiful building, which makes you wonder how was it possible to build a structure like that hundreds years ago! Great landmark!

I didn't get the chance to see the inside, not least because it was a weekend but I think it provides typical architecture of German city halls.

Aachen Rathaus is quite pretty, it has several romos for meetings and a special room in the upper floor where there is a Charlemagne Price granted every year to people that work to improve European Unity.Only some parts of the lower floor are remains of Charlemagne's castle, the rest was rebuilt later on. There are also some paintings of Charlemagne.

To be honest, I am not impressed by Aachen's architecture, but the town hall is a piece of history that really impressed me! It's not too big, so about 30-40 minutes is enough. It's very well-kept. Definitely worth the €3.

We stumbled upon here while walking around and it was a sight to see with all the remnants of the Christmas decorations and a grand open space in front of us.It was a lovely sight and a must see during Xmas times, I believe also in spring time it must be beautiful.

Aachen Rathaus is very impressive and the history behind it makes it mandatory. The view of the cathedral from the other side of the plaza makes the best picture ever. Make sure you don't miss the ground floor rooms, the room that shows the WWII damage and reconstruction is really interesting.
