Agreed, the museum is hard to find, but if you pretend you are a car and follow the signs you will find a small gem of a museum. All finds on display are described and context is provided where necessary.The only (small) criticism is the fact that even at 10am it was already very hot inside, even though the outside temperature was comfortable.Worth a visit if you are in Pothia.

The museum is hard to find and is very out of the way. To find it you will need to follow the signs which begin in Pothia. Antiquities stretch from the Archaic period all the way to the Byzantine period and is made up of finds from in and around Kalymnos. Although the collection might not be as extensive as larger museums for a small island like Kalymnos it has some impressive pieces and is comprehensive.

Παρα πολυ ωραιο το αρχαιολογικο μουσειο της ποθιας με πλούτο εκθεματων απο διαφορες χρονικές περιόδους και απο το καστρο της χώρας!

Πολύ αξιόλογη συλλογή αρχαίων αγαλμάτων , παρουσίαση ιδιαίτερα ενδιαφέρουσα με ιστορική σειρά και τεκμηρίωση . Σημαντικότερο άγαλμα η το χάλκινο άγαλμα γυναίκας που βρέθηκε σε ναυάγιο σχετικά πρόσφατα αλλά και άλλα εξίσου αξιομνημόνευτα. Επισκεφθείτε το αν βρεθείτε στην Κάλυμνο.

Τα αγάλματα σε καθηλώνουν. Έχεις την αίσθηση ότι θα σου μιλήσουν, θα σου πουν την ιστορία τους. Η επιβλητική μπρούτζινη κόρη, το χάλκινο κεφάλι ανδρός, παραδείγματα απαράμηλης τέχνης, και μετά τα μαρμάρινα, αληθινά αριστουργήματα. Δυστυχώς απαγορεύεται η φωτογράφηση.

Non ci sono tantissimi reperti ma e'stato comunque interessante e ben organizzato.Serve per capire come e' nata Kakymnos e la sua civiltà

Il museo è nuovo e ben organizzato.E' piccolo, ma nell'ultima sala è stata posta una statua in bronzo di donna che vale ben oltre il prezzo del biglietto, peraltro basso come in tutti i musei greci.La statua, contesa da parecchi grandi musei mondiali, è stata restaurata dopo il ritrovamento in mare ed è conservata ottimamente.Ci siamo soffermati parecchio a guardarla e devo dire che ricordiamo ben poche altre statue dell'epoca così belle.Purtroppo non ci è stato possibile fare foto perché non ne esistono ancora di ufficiali, il museo deve ancora pubblicare la sua guida.
