We have visited Sissi several times now and can definitely say that Peggy Gordon's was one of the reasons for choosing to return to that resort.Great atmosphere, super-friendly staff and all supplied at very reasonable prices. The music is varied and always excellently performed by Cavan and a host of visiting artistes. If you're feeling musical yourself, and so inclined, you are usually more than welcome to join in.Sports are also on offer on big screens for all the big games. We have spent many happy hours carousing and enjoying the craic at Peggy's (I think we must be some of those undesirables mentioned)If you like good music, good company and a good time - give Peggy Gordon's a go.

Not a theme bar. Its a bar that does drinks, music and football and is run by an Irishman. The staff and management are freindly and stop to talk to you. If you are expecting what you find in an average biritish high street you probably wont like this. But you are on holiday so try something different - talk to the staff and listen to the music - whats the worst that could happen......

Hello Gingernut, thank you for your review. We actually have live music on the small stage four nights a week, but every now and then if other musicians arrive or tourists turn up and like to play in a jam session then we do that, it is more informal, spontaneous and characteristic of Irish bars back home, it rarely happens but if it does is really enjoyed by our customers as it is more personal than a planned evening.. I would like to say that on the night you were in, it was indeed three local musicians (Lenny and myself) also joined by a greek bouziki player and two visiting musicians one English and the other Irish who plays traditional music in Ireland and had his Irish bouziki with him. On the rare nights that this is possible, most people love the unique atmosphere as it is so different for here, and normally want it again. I appreciate your constructive comments (and the compliments about the good musicians) and thank you for taking the time to write to inform others, but I must stress that this was indeed a different night that you experienced. I am also sad that you didn't see the normal nights recently there have been "no" empty seats and a beautiful atmosphere. Maybe next time we hope.Best wishes,Cavan

a visit to Peggy Gordons is a must, very friendly owner Caven and Jimmy welcome you straight away, we really enjoyed going there, live entertainment most nights, thankyou for your hospitality. It does get very hot in there of an evening, so we sat on the chairs overlooking the road and watched the world go by, would recommend Peggys to every visitor going to Sissi.

Had several good nights in the Irish bar. The bar manager ‘Jimmy' was a good guy who always had time for a natter even when busy. Also Caven the entertainment was ok ish... lol, very good also with his very experienced side kck who's name I cannot remember? But will defo be dropping in again for a cracking pint of Guinnes..

Peggy Gordon's is an Irish atmospheric pub/bar that has nice drinks and live music/entertainment but upon entering it my family did not feel welcome as we had children! The owner sat talking to his friend for 5 mins before we were served and he welcomed us and seemed a nice bloke! The seats were comfy and the bar provided a nice, humorous atmosphere as there were many things on the walls that were hilarious! The signs outside of the bar did suggest that Peggy's was not a friendly-family pub so maybe we shouldn't have entered beforehand. When my daughter went to the bathroom, the other customers at the bar stared at her and she said it made her feel like everyone was very hostile towards her in the pub! We left the moment she said that but i'm sure the owner is a very nice person as I gathered from the welcoming he gave us! Peggy's is not a children-friendly pub but I do recommend it for adults and couples who want to have a good-night out!

Enjoyed an afternoon drink in this pub most days and nights during a recent holiday to Sissi. Jimmy ,Lenny and Cavan are three of the nicest blokes you could meet and I recommend that you give it a try if you are in Sissi. Only negative is that it gets really hot in there and would benefit from a couple of ceiling fans. Oh and Cavan you have got to learn Danny Boy haha.

So you go to Crete and think to yourself “let’s go to an Irish bar” and next thing you’re here. With live music most nights, little girls dancing to the jigs/reels and Kilkenny bitter on tap, you could be somewhere far off, if it wasn’t for the sunshine outside reminding you that this is not in fact Ireland.

Sissi is a beautiful little village but only has one bar. It has great places to eat however, you can't sit in a restaurant all night, you need to move on to Peggys! Cavan, the owner/singer/entertainer will give a traditional Irish welcome to all visitors. If you enjoy live music this is the place to hang out, be entertained and enjoy the craic. We wish you continued success and thanks for making our holiday. All the best Michael, Terry and the wee dancer ( Sophie)

Me and my boyfriend spent many nights in Peggy Gordons on our stay in Sissi when the other bars had closed. Every night there was live music with all the classic Irish songs which was so much fun! We discovered these amazing shots with chocolate and crème de menthe for only 5 euros who the bar man happily made! Would definitely recommend this place, it has a lovely atmosphere and one night when we came back from Malia really hungry the bar man made us toasties even though the kitchen had closed. Definitely worth a visit!

We loved going here. Jimmy,Cavan and Lenny are brilliant. I could sit and listen to them singing and their banter for hours. Jimmy was always so welcoming and had time for a chat. Cavan and Lenny just bounce off one another. We had a great night when there were Cavan, Lenny,Rod who was on holiday from Belfast and three Cretan men all playing instruments and singing. It's a great wee bar and I would highly recommend it.

Peggy Gordons is owned by a little irish fella called Cavan Ferry who is a well travelled and interesting man. He is well clued up about the area and happy to chat to you about who to see for car hire etc. We had a lovely 1/2 carafe of Sangria in Peggy Gordons one evening which was 4E, it was about a glass and a half each so excellent value. We returned for Mythos a few times as there is a lovely atmosphere in there. You must go and pay Cavan a visit and see for yourself

We are just back from Sissi Bay and visited this pub a couple of times. Cavan is so friendly and makes you feel very welcome. He spoke to is all night and we all had a few drinks together. It was out of season so although Sissi Bay wasn't very busy Cavan always had people in his bar, which tells me that its a great place to go. I would recommend that you visit Peggy Gordons when you are in Sissi Bay! He has quiz nights, live music and loads of other entertainment on so you will never be bored :)
