You must go and see the stalactite/stalagmite cave near Olympi. It's stunning. A guide takes you down. There's a lot of steps but it's very safe. A must-see.

We went there to visit the limestone cave. The cave is well protected but it is not that big and impressive. After visiting the cave, we drive down the coast and meet a nice small beach. I think this is a bonus for us visiting there.

We spent some time visiting Olympi at the end of september. The narrow streets are certainly worth a stroll; there is an interesting taverna on the central square that serves more than the traditional greek cuisine found elsewhere. We had an excellent lunch. After our visit to village we went to Olympi cave. We were lucky to find the cave open (it closes at the end of september). Whilst the guide is an experienced caver who can provide a wealth of information about the cave, his enthusiasm is... well... how to say, below what you would expect from a guide. No offense, but his three-legged dog show more enthusiasm than himself.

Chios is full of unique villages. Olumpi is nice but I liked Mesta more. Don’t get me wrong – if you are in Chios, you should go and see it for yourself.

Better to go to the medieval town just a little further away where there are active shops, peddlers, a few restaurants and ice cream shops.

This was a fascinating village to visit. As with the other villages in Greece you can get lost in its streets but where some villages you don't see a soul, this one was full of people having coffee or going about their chores. Olympi also did not feel closed in like Mesta or some of the other villages we visted. We stayed and had something to drink in the main square. Highly recommend this village.

It was very quiet when we visited but the locals are very friendly. There is a huge restaurant in the middle of the square. A highly worthwhile stop.

Very nice village of medieval origin that you will love for sure. Not as breathtaking as Mesta, but definatelly a must see.

One more medieval village in south Chios, smaller than Mesta but characteristic kind of fortified villages.We liked walking in its narrow roads and greating old people sitting outside their houses.Don't miss visiting the small but very nice cave of Olympoi near the village.

An mastic village overlooked by tourists that is more authentic than its better known counterpart Mesta. The village has been built in the style of a castle with maize-like arched alleyways and vaulted houses. It was very quiet when we visited but the locals are very friendly. There is a restaurant in the middle of the square. A highly worthwhile stop.

nice small village near the cave. the caves are beautiful, the tour guide there very polite and with nice explanations to all questions. nice place to visit on your way to mesta...medioeval village of a great beauty...

Village surprenant d'authenticité plaisir à se promener et surtout à déguster les spécialités du jour à la taverne améthyste au pied de la tour ( ne vous trompez pas de taverne il y en a deux) Un coq au vin servi avec des pâtes au masticha est une vraie merveille, et en dessert un gâteau au citron avec une boule de glace au masticha.

Ενα οχι και τοσο γνωστο μεσαιωνικο χωριο στο δρομο για τα Μεστα της Χιου σε εντυπωσιαζει με τα κτισματα και τα στενα πετρινα και καθαρα δρομακια του!Τελειο γιακαφε γλυκο και ξεκουραση σε καποιο απο τα πεντακαθαρα καφενεδακια του.Παραδοσιακη μουσικη-τραγουδια τα μεσημερια στη πλατεια.

Στα 6 χιλ.απο το Πυργι βρισκεται αλλο ενα μεσαιωνικο χωριο αντιστοιχο των Μεστων αλλα με περισσοτερες αλλοιωσεις.Παρ'ολ'αυτα ειναι επισκεψιμο και σας καλει να το εξερευνησετε.Επισης διατηρητεο μνημειο,πετροχτιστο,με πολλα λουλουδια να κοσμουν πολλες γωνιες στενων σοκακιων.Περπατωντας θ' ανακαλυψετε κι αλλες κρυφες ομορφιες.Καλη βολτα!

Dit rustig maar toch gezellig dorpje heeft enkele bezienswaardigheden, op een leuk pleintje kan je van de regionale producten enorm genieten. De moeite waard.
