If you want the most amazing Austrian Alp experience, don't miss this. The Olympic cross-country teams work out at the glacier at the top, kinda fun to watch if your timing is right. Spectacular, beautiful views...

Loved every minute, we were literally above the clouds! Dress warmly though- even in August it was only 5 degrees up there. We went early in the morning 8:00 and spent about 2-3 hours walking around and also visiting the ice cave. The view leaves you simply breathless. On nice days you can also go on the open deck cable car- well worth asking the attendant if you ride on the top.

We had a fun afternoon riding the gondola up to the Skywalk and Dachstein summit. Even though it was August, we experienced rain, snow, and dense fog on our journey up. If you can, be sure to get a "terrace" seat on the gondola -- it's outside on the gondola's roof, and is truly spectacular. Almost like an eagle's eye view! The Skywalk is unique and awe-inspiring. The majesty of the Alps is in its full glory here. Just don't forget your gloves, a cap, and warm jacket if you want to walk around upon arrival at the summit. The kids loved running and jumping in the snowdrifts, but were sure soaking wet on the ride down!

A very good idea for viewing among the mountain peaks before leading of to the suspension bridge and ice palace

Your afraid of heights? This is not the spot you want to be. Great view across the alps. Recommend to connect it with the ice palace

Of all the places we visited in Austria from when we landed in Wien and our drives all over The country; this place beats all hands down. So unbelievably beautiful; the four fingers have to be believed by going there.

This was a fantastic trip up to the glacier. We went on a sunny Saturday and it was very crowded because there are lots of walks around and parking was a bit difficult. We were fortunate to have the Summer Card so did not have to join the line for tickets. The trip in the lift gave great views of the surrounding valleys. There was a very good restaurant with delicious goulash soup. We were fortunate to have a clear day and the view was stunning.

It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen but it's a little beat expensive and unlike other places in Austria the service for families with small kids and babies is worse. Take into consideration that if you are from a warm place it might be very cold.

Wow, not good with heights but be prepared for great views, its worth it. This is a must do if you are in this area

The place is really great with good scene. I was unlucky that I had been when it was raining and snowing heavily .. The cable carts costs like 30 € and there is ice palace which is for 10€ .. But you can avoid this ice palace.

Suited me, becuase I felt very brave! When the cloud cleared you had a brilliant view of the mountain

Mindblowing engineering. Not for the faint hearted. Unrreal veiws of the area. But when clouds are around the mountain, be prepared for cold times and expect to see practically nothing or the views. Wear a thick sweater of coat and preferably long pants, even in summer.

Ride on top of the cable car! Walk up the glacier on pisted path. Don't forget to book in advance on their website otherwise ytou could be delayed hours on a busy sunny weekend.

If you wanna go to the Dachstein Skywalk, you should go there when is nice and sunny, so you can have a great view over the city. Tip for Summer visitors: The price of the cable car is quite high ( approx. 30 euros) - make sure you stay at a hotel or pension which offers for free the "Summer card" - which offers a free ride to the Glacier but also to many many other attractions in the area.
