I would have rated Meryemana higher but for the cost of admission and parking. We were charged 50TL for 2 people and a car. None of this money goes toward the upkeep of the place but rather goes to the Municipality of Selcuk. Having said this, the site is well kept and a very peaceful place to visit. Picnic tables are available for use or you can buy food from the on site cafe. No photography is allowed inside the small chapel.

It was a pleasure and an honour to be able to explore this area as part of our visit to Ephesus. It is just amazing to find so much history associated with the area and the way in which it is being preserved deserves recognition. This whole site should be a UNESCO world heritage site.

This place was out of the way and a little ways off but very worth the trip there. If you like history then this place is for you. Be prepared to spend half a day here.

Up a winding road is the House of Mary. The house itself is very small, but the feeling you get there is huge. Take the hour to tour the site. It is managed by the State, so don't be surprised if you see armed soldiers patrolling the area.

Pleasant and interesting location. Credentials are a little shaky but to those who have faith that doesn't really matter. The Pope was here in 2006 and that should count for something

This is the house where Virgin Mary stay after Jesus dead. A simple house for the catholic pilgrimage. In ancient time the house were simple.

Wow, this was an amazing experience. It felt so peaceful and inspiring. Although small, it is definitely worth the side trip if you believe in Mary.

We arrived at Mary's house amid 2 contrasts.....there was a Catholic Mass being celebrated in the open air - in English) - and there were Turkish armed security guards all around. The house has obviously been rebuilt, but in saying that, it was an extremely modest 2 room cottage that exuded peace and tranquility! Outside, a natural spring was flowing and I certainly took advantage of that. There was also a type of wall where people could poke in bits of paper etc with prayer requests. But a really lovely spot!

i wished I had more time spent at Mother Mary's house. I felt peace and so much emotion. I never thought I'd be able to visit here and more than grateful that I did.

Lovely, peaceful tour with quiet reflection. The wall of notes to Mary is amazing. Beautiful views. The chapel is small and intimate.

Breathtaking!!!! We were so excited to visit The Virgin Mary's house as we are Marian devotee. Felt peace and the calmness of the place. i would definitely visit this place again!!!!!

It's a place to go to for those who want to visit the house of the Virgin Mary, not for those who simply want a tour of Ephesus or the area. There's not much to it except long lines and a few small statues & paintings. If you don't have a strong religious reason to go there, skip it.

If you're doing a tour of the Selcuk area towards Ephesus, it's worthwhile stopping here before continuing. I would not personally just visit the House of Meryemana ... it will take no more than about 10 mins to see it and then carry on.It is a spiritual journey though, light a candle while you're there then check out the wishing wall.
