This was our first time there and we loved it, the exhibit is rather small but very personal and the curator was amazing. So much knowledge and information. As we are aircraft fans all the planes were excellent. Would recommend to anyone interested in flight.

As an aviation enthusiast, paid a quick visit on route back south.Good range of exhibits both aircraft and other memorabilia, some good narrative on the exhibits too, spent some time chatting to one of the museum staff too.All in worth an hour or so visit or longer if you really like your aviation history.

A nice and small museum, it will take you between 1 and 2 hours to go through everything depending on your interest of aircrafts. These machines are fragile, and some of them are still flying regularly and just sitting in the museum when their owners are not using them, so be respectfully of the signs telling you what to do, and not to do. Most of the discriptions were translated to English, but not all. I hope this is work in progress, because these descriptions really adds to the experience.

Nice little aviation museum. Great story of British fighter plane recovered from a glacier. Well out together attractions. Worth a whirl for an hour or sol

Interesting place for aviation geeks. Not one, don't go. You are one, do spend some time. It tells Iceland's aviation history, its pioneers and machinery. Very interesting, keeping the geography in mind.

Not just a bunch of decommissioned planes, most of these rotate and are on loan from owners - most are still in service when not on display, Had an hour to spend before our flight, we weren't expecting much but we were happy that we spent the time.

My husband and I decided to take a trip to the museum before our flight to Grimsey. It was actually quite interesting. My husband is a photographer and an aviation buff and he especially enjoyed it. The interactive displays where you could go inside the planes were fascinating and the various pictures and items pertaining to Icelandic aviation history were well thought-out and fun to look at. My only suggestion would be to have more English translation of the photographs. Most seemed to be in Icelandic only. I loved watching the children visiting the museum driving around in the miniature model airplane. Wished they had a bigger one for us adults. =)

As he is very interested in aviation we sought out this museum which, unsurprisingly,is at the airport.he told me it was an excellent place.the next comment is his.A very comprehensive collection of aircraft and aircraft equipment and parts. It was possible to step on board some of the larger ones. It was also quite personal with pictures and uniforms and a section devoted to the RAF personelle stationed in Iceland in the second World War.
