In the middle of winter, through ice, and snow, we made the trek to Haafell and were not disappointed. Johanna was very warm and engaging, taking us through each goat enclosure and sharing stories along the way. We were allowed to pet and interact with the goats, even carry oneI am a goat fan, have two myself, and this was the primary reason I made the journey, but a quirky perk was learning that several of the goats were on Games of Thrones, including resident goat celebrity, Casanova. Johanna had some items to sell including clothing, soaps, scrubs, and hand cream. The tour itself was for a nominal fee (considering the overall costs we experienced in Iceland). The drive from Reykjavik was approximately 2 hours, however with lovely scenery all around, it was a very pleasant afternoon.I recommend wearing sturdy shoes and not be afraid of goaty smells :)

Also called "The Icelandic Goat Center". My 7 year old daughter loved this place. She got to hold two baby goats (and pet two dogs). Twenty of their goats were in season 4 of Game of Thrones. We got to meet the white one who was apparently eaten on the show, but he is very much alive. Also got to hear the story of how when that goat was a baby, he was so sick and lost all his hair so the owners knitted him a sweater to keep warm. We had some goat milk ice cream (tasty!), and I purchased some soap and lotion made from goat milk and tallow. As a cheese lover, I was disappointed that there was no goat cheese. This place is quite rural, but definitely worth a trip if you are an animal and/or Game of Thrones fan!

My friend and I were squealing with pleasure when we got to hold a 3-week old baby goat in our arms and snuggle. The animals here are very friendly and we got some much-needed animal love. Besides being friendly, the goats here have historical and cultural significance - they are the last repository of Icelandic goats, having descended directly from those that settlers brought over a thousand years ago. And they're famous in the modern day too! Game of Thrones fans (myself among them) are thrilled to recognize that the goats Drogon (Danaery's dragon) snatched up in Season 4 came from this very farm. After walking around a bit we had tea and coffee with the owner, who was very friendly and told us all about how she made various products from the animals. I really felt like I got a glimpse into Icelandic rural life.Would recommend.

My son (7) and I visited Háafell. We were allowed to pet the goats which was nice. The guides told us a lot about the farm and were very knowledgeable. After the tour we were offered a taste of goat cheese and goat feta cheese which were nice. We were also offered some goat milk. We bought goat vanilla ice cream which tasted pretty good and also cheese. They also had variety of hand and skin lotion and souvenirs. Over all a nice little trip and the hospitality of the hosts was at a high standard. My son loved the place.
