medieval ilok fortress

There is not much of the fort, but nice view on river Dunav, and Serbia on the other side. The nature is perfect.

Ilok fortress is dominating above town. It is very easy to find and near bay is public parking that is for free. Inside fortress is Ilok town museum with interesting pieces from medieval history of region. During our visit there was not a lots of tourist so it is possible to fully enjoy museum.

Nice fortress with a great view on the Danube river. We couldn't get inside because it's closed on mondays, so watch out when you'll get there. Go for a walk around the fortress, you'll love it!

Not crowded, but very good place to visit. Near the vine cellers and next to Danube river. Perfect afternoon...

C'est une forteresse réputée imprenable à flanc de coteaux. L'église fait partie de l'ensemble. Elle est fermée en temps ordinaire. Durant l'évacuation en 1991, les Serbes envoyèrent le responsable croate de la police pour vérifier que des tireurs ne soient pas embusqués dans le clocher. Celui-ci balayant toute la région jusqu'au pont, ou 20000 croates d'Iliok et sa région furent expulsés. une visite s'impose !
