interesting monument, a bit kitchy but with a great story behind it - located in a place where historical events tend to happen in this town. At the same crossroad is also another interesting little site - a memorial of a sad and true love story from a long time ago, if you are a bit of romantic try to find it under a new Eurodom building.

An original monument in that it is a reversal of what actually happened at that sight. A red Fico parked in the intersection was crushed by a JNA tank during the war. The reversal with the Fico crushing the tank represents victory.Be on the lookout for it at the intersection. To those complaining about the location and that it should be located elsewhere, the whole point of the monument being here is to commemorate what happened at this precise location. It doesn't make sense to have it elsewhere!

Great story and very important part of city history but really cheap and poor piece of monument. Bad location, bad idea and overall really bad sculpture.

Red fico was crushed by a tank in war. Now its a symbol of victory crushing that same tank in the same spot now in free Croatia.

This monument is a must see in Osijek because of it's history. During the Homeland war, on June 27th 1991, a red Fićo (Fiat 500) tried to block a tank of the serbian army exactly on this location. This is the reason why the monument isn't at some other place where turists are more frequent. It's a nice memory of the past.

The monument itself has a good story, but it's location is terrible..To fully comprehend what it means you have to know recent croatian history..some place along the Drava river vould maybe be more apropriate..

Known as the Red Fićo to locals, or the Battle of Osijek monument, this is an absolute must see in Osijek. On 27 june 1991 a red fićo blocked the path of a YNA tank which didn't so much as stop before crushing it. The picture was famous worldwide, and a video titled "Crveni fićo" shows the whole scene unfold. This is a monument to that event, however now the tank is the one being crushed (by nothing other than the fićo), to remind everyone of the independence that was fought for. Awesome concept and execution, don't miss it!
