Don't listen to beyaz2015 Don't know what he's talking about, been to Pamporovo twice and it's been brilliant. Nice people, good food and excellent value for money with good tuition - I paid 168 euros for ski pass, skis and 4 hours with instructor per day for 6 days all in so 60 quid for 3 hours is absolute rubbish Will be going back!

returned from first time ski holiday(cant wait to ski again)our ski instructor was brilliant and funny when he caught onto our Belfast humour. the views were breath taking and I overcame my fear of heights and enjoyed the ski lifts.

I never recommend this ski resort to anyone even if I was born in Bulgaria. The service is so poor, the staff who work at the lifts are so rude. Once I had an argument just because I couldn't open the locker of the seat, the guy threw me the seat and it hit my board. He is not aware of that I could be injured very bad. They are not educated about their jobs and there is no authority you can complain. Never expect the service what you have in U.K.Don't take private ski or snowboard lessons unless you are not sure about the instructor. I paid 60 pounds for 3 hours lesson but the guy was always talking on the phone and with friends around or looking at his watch to finish it as soon as possible. Most of them just try to rip off. They just care about your money, not teaching you anything. I don't recommend Iva & Elena hotel where I stay. You probably will better one which is good value for money. The towels haven't changed 2 days even if we put them on the floor. Spa area is so tiny. Wifi connection is weak, you mostly can't use it. Beds are so tiny too. I have never seen this small single or twin in my life. The staff was nice and kind in the hotel but don't expect all of them to speak English but it is not problem. No nightlife, clubs are playing only Bulgarian folk music which you probably not like it.Only thing I am very satisfied that foods are really tasty and good value for money. You can find tasty, cheap foods wherever you go in Bulgaria. I always like Bulgarian foods. Most of ski runs are not ideal snowboarders. Ski runs are short and there are lots of flats parts where you need to take your board off. Ski pass is 20 pounds per day. Opens 8.45 closes 16.30 which is early i think coz it is still daytime. So DON'T GO TO PAMPOROVO. go to Alps, you may pay more but you can be sure about you will have much good time. If you want to go to Bulgaria for ski in any case go to BANSKO. definitelly better.

We have just returned from a fantastic week ski-ing with my 7 and 8 year old. Hotel 5 minute walk from central ski area and can actually ski into hotel. Ski instructor fantastic! Friendly, safe and child friendly ski resort and my kids loved their 1st ski holiday. Food fantastic and very cheap, alcohol very cheap and locals very friendly. Lots of family friendly ski runs! What more could you ask for ....highly recommend

Booked with Crystal Ski, My wife and I had never Skied before, we went here. It's not door to door skiing, you need a bus transfer to the ski area. But that was ok. The ski school as great very little fuss to get the boots fitted, and skies sorted know your height in CM and Weight in KG. then in matter of minutes all done. The school does 5 hours of lessons with a one hour break. we progressed very quickly day one stopping, day two nursery slope, day three top of the hill on the green run. Day 4-6 top of the hill green run, then a blue and red on last day. Instructor was great guy, taught with patients and progression. spoke perfect English. was happy to help, with everything. Taught how to use lifts, etc helped with food, kit and places to go. Great value for food, hot chocolate £1.00 beer £1.60, Mulled wine £2.00 food on the mountain £4 to £8 depending on you choice. Top of the mountain £0.40 more per dish, than bottom. I had never skied so can not comment to what it compares to other areas. But I had great fun as did all the people I spoke to. Plenty of web cams to look at too before you go.

Great family holiday here! Perfect for beginners/intermediate skiers and instructors are excellent! Slopes can get a bit crowded if any of the other more advanced slopes are closed due to lack of snow.

I went with my husband a few years ago and found a lovely alpine cafe there was one lovely waiter who used to come and chat and watch my dvd player as I did not ski one of the waiters was very threatenening and abusive when I asked what had happened to my change so I did not go again beware some of these people( the men) are not very respectful of woman especially foreign woman who they think have a better lifestyle than they do I would not recommend

This is a great ski resort and the price is excellent. The good points:- Price!!!- There are runs for all abilities (long green run for beginners, nice blue runs and steep reds and black runs).- Friendly people.- Old and Modern lifts (old lifts are a great experience).- View from the communication tower is amazing! The bad points (that are not that bad).- Runs would be classed as slightly short compared to the Alps.- Pamporovo is very spaced out. So if you want night life you might need to get taxi's or buses depending where you are staying.- Some building are unfinished, bit ugly, but it does not matter.I would recommend this resort to people who want to mainly focus on skiing/snowboarding more than nightlife.I will be going back.
