Piramides is the perfect place if you want to explore the national park on the peninsula. The beaches are glorious. The largest sea lion colony is within walking distance of the centre. You can go diving, kayaking, canoeing, walking, on boat excursions and more. At certain times of year you can see whales in the bay. It's just wonderful...

The best choice if you are going to visit Peninsula de Valdez is to sleep here. You are just inside the Park, near everything interesting. Each time you get inside this zone you have to pay a tax but if you are inside, you pay just once. Whales tours, Punta Caleta, Faro Delgado and different places are the things you visit at Valdez. And you are already there! Avoiding the hour and a half that you have to Puerto Madryn. Few places to eat different choices and good places to rest is ehat you can find in Piramides. I stayed at Las Restingas! Was incredible. Hotel and restaurant! Both very good! TheLittle town is enchanting! I stayed three nights and really had an incredible experience!

We were not sure what to do and which place to choose for whale watching in the region. Farms in the Valdes peninsula? Puerto Madryn? We decided for Puerto Piramides and the choice has been excellent. Piramides is a sleepy (well, not in the summer!), hippy, beautiful small place built on a hug and beautiful beach facing the gulf where the whales stop for breeding. There are a few hotels (see one of my reviews for that) and companies organizing whale watching tours, together with bars and restaurants. It is a very good spot. It is also an ideal place to drive around Valdes peninsula (allocate at least 6 hours by car for a round trip to do it!). Well worth a visit. Enjoy!

Puerto Pirámides, Province of Chubut, Patagonia Argentina is one-of-a kind place! The entrance looks like a pyramid, that´s why it´s called this way.The beach is huge! If you like walking , you will certainly enjoy walking by the sea, early in the morning!I highly recommend to go down the beach late in the afternoon to experience the best sunset ever, especially in summer! The Little town is friendly and lovely! If you visit Puerto Pirámides from June to December, you shouldn´t miss whale watching! Magic!Unforgettable experience! Cannot describe it with words!Enjoy as much as I did!Cheers!

Potentially idyllic beach, but heavily polluted with plastic rubbish. mostly – it seems – from shopping bags. Nothing the town couldn't clear up if it had the will, and a crying shame in view of the whales cruising just offshore.

Depends on what you like. If you're the type that likes to block traffic with a big orange lifesaver around your neck, looking precisley like a group of extremely foolish sheep that doesn't know what to do when a large truck comes down the road and has to literally be asked to get the hell off the road so that the truck can drive ( not making this up) great place. Never seen anything like kit. Hundreds of people standing around blocking all traffice looking totally lost, blocking traffic. I liked: Benegas Brothers adventures. Three days kayaking in very remote areas, no foolishness, fantastic experiences, get dirty, get sweaty,. see breaching whales, gape your eyes out, see things nobody else does 'cuz you're right ON the water with them. You earn your stripes out there, wake up on the beach to whales leaping. Now that was fantastic. Orange life vests? Come ON man.

Small, friendly and quiet village from where the whale tours start various times per day. Perfect for 1 or 2 nights. Two or three nice restaurants with good quality food and a very nice accommodation called Del Nomade Hosteria Ecologica.

This is the best place to be close to the action - whale watching, Punta Norte, the local sea lion colony. Puerto Madryn is not a pretty town and an hour away. If you stay in Puerto Piramides you can do whale watching at a moments notice, depending on the weather and the light for the best photos. It's a very small town and when the weather turns there's not much to do but eat and relax. Not so bad!

The village is based on the tourism, and therefore most of the businesses there are connected to the "whale-business". Don't expect anything fancy, as it is far far away.... But the surroundings offer many experiences, so absolutely a place to go for the animals and to be away from the city-life.

Its such a nice little town and they got a unique thing in the whole wide world. Whales, you can be as close as 4 meters from the creature, they got a quiet friendly community, they all share resources most of the times, nice pubs in the evening where u can find the locals there.

Little cozy town. Laid back and with excellent restaurants. A lot of things to do. Rent a car in Puerto Madryn, because there is a lot to explore on the pensinsula!
