Wonderfull, take at least one week. When you have a rental car it is perfect to get everywhere. If you don't have a car you can rent a car in san pedro or book an excursion in the center of san pedro de acatama.

On December 21st we drove from Calama across the altiplano to Ollague on the border with Bolivia. We drove over the Ascotan Pass, across the Salar de Ascotan and the Salar de Carcote. The scenery is breathtaking, the colours on the hillsides are quite extraordinary. We saw vicunas and flamingoes, andean gulls and sandpipers in the pools of water within the salt lakes. Socaire village on the way to Miscanti lake is not mentioned on trip advisor..you stop here for lunch..it's 100km from San Pedro De Atacama.

we have riding buses in short 5 to 8 hour hops through this desert for days since crossing the border from Peru. It is fascinating and desolate - brown sand, dirt mountains, not a blade of grass or a cactus in sight. Utterly beguiling.

It is an amazing place but never buy anything from Teckara Tourism. The employee does not have professionalism. They forget the customers who have already paid and after make fool of the tourists. Motorists are sexist and unpleasant. Horrible company. If you want to have a good trip in Atacama, Do not buy anything from this agency or Peruvian lady in front. Teckara never again!

El Desierto de Atacama es un lugar impresionante,ver tanta inmensidad sorprende y maravilla, es distinto a lo que se puede haber visto antes. Para recorrerlo deben llevar ropa adecuada, es mejor estar cubiertos porque el sol es muy fuerte y dañino, o sino usar mucho protector solar.

Si bien es un paisaje seco, tiene una belleza especial con sus distintas tonalidades de colores amarillos, naranjos, cafe, etc. Es un lugar que se debe conocer, existen dentro de este una serie de maravillas como los salares, quebradas, etc

Hermoso, simplemente hermoso, totalmente lo contrario del sur de Chile y Santiago, la carretera para llegar es cansadora pero in-creible, Nos quedamos 1 semana en San pedro de Atacama, y desde ahí recorrimos todos los alrededores. Recomendados: Valle de la luna en bicicleta, Laguna Chaxas, Geysers del Tatio, y todo lo mas posible que puedan recorrer...
