If you are in Aracaju- SE takes only 1 hour by bus. But you can go from Bahia too. You can consult any travel agency around either it's safer and easy. Also don't forget to go into the dunes by boogie! It's a nice ride. Cost 130 Reais but can be split by 4 people the capacity of the boogie( car). You will see beautiful landscapes also after the ride you can stop for w beer and lunch and enjoy the beach too. Don't forget the cap and sunscream because the sun there or very strong also a sunglasses.

The boat trip is really beautiful and the beach has warm, calm, shallow waters. There is only one food kiosk at the beach, so be prepared for terrible service and expensive food. There are hammocks for you to rest if you don't feel like going into the water.

Whole place is like paradise...miles of beautiful coast with firm sandy beach and dunes with coconut trees. Place is quiet with few bunches of locals running the restaurants and tourists (mostly Brazilians) arriving in buggies (little open top cars) from village on the river side of peninsula. You can spend the time wandering around dunes and if you lucky you can see the hatching turtles. The dunes itself are phenomenal and always moving so some trees are covered with sand up to the top where you can get yourself a fresh coconut. There are spectacular views from the dunes hills towards the river with all the palm and coconut trees below. Ocean side is equally stunning with views of the beach and the lines of coconut trees on the end of dunes. You can walk into the ocean for at least hundred of meters and still be waist deep, which helps to safely enjoy the wave tumbling :). And you can easily find spots of the beach where there will be no one, but you for whole day.Because it is quite expensive to get there and far away either from Salvador or Aracaju, it still unspoiled and not haunted with hoards of tourists. To get there you will need to get by bus to the town of Indiaroba and take the taxi (R$25 one way) to the jetty on the river in small village where you have to take boat (R$100 return per speedboat max 6) to peninsula side and then take the little car called buggy (R$80 per car for max 4 people return).Try to beat down the cost by joining the other parties. this can bring the cost down quite considerably and remember you can always try to bargain ;) even if you save R$5-10, that is the money you can spend on beer at the beach restaurant :).

Was born and raised in Brazil and used to go to totally empty/virgin beaches when I was a kid and it was very nice to see that those paradise still exists.Of course no pain no gain.3 hours by car from Salvador, 25m' by boat to cross a river and a 15m' jeep ride over the sand dunes to get there. It is probably 90m' drive from Aracaju or Costa do Sauipe. Not a religious person but will ask God to take me back there again.

Whether it's sunny or cloudy, the place is breathtaking. Delicious typical food, exotic fruit ice cream, Boat ride, sand dunes which form the wonderful scenery of "Tieta" by Jorge Amado, beautiful beach and a swim in the warm waters. An unforgettable tour.

This is certainly one of the most amazing beaches I've ever been too. It takes a couple of hours to reach Mangue Seco if you are travelling from Aracaju, but it is worth every minute. It's very sad I lost the memory card where I kept all pictures from this place...it can only be described with images!

Mangue Seco is a peninsula sourranded by a river on the north and the atlantic on the rest of the peninsula. It is actually located on the state of Bahia, but to get there you need to go to the neighbor state of Sergipe (limit between Bahia and Sergipe is the river) to croos by boat. Yes, there is a way to get to Mangue Seco by road, but you need to enter a small village 30km south (on the linha verde road in Bahia), take a dirt road up to the beach, have a 4x4 vehicle to cross the soft sand and only when you have low tide, then ride to Mangue Seco along the ocean.Mague Seco is all sand streets. The town is located on the river shore a few hundred meters form where it meets the ocean. To get to the nice dust like sand beaches, you need to rent a Buggy (R$ 50 for round trip) to cross the dunes that form in the middle or take a walk of around 2km.There are several hotels and restaurants and some basic shopping. You have to understand that this is kind of wild, so do not expect 5 star hotels, but it is surely a nice experience for people who like some far end rougher spots of the world. The locals are very kind and try to keep tourists at ease. The cost of visiting MS is higher than normal, starting by the river crossing (around R$ 80) and the need to hire Buggys to get to the beach (is you do not want to walk), but other costs are similar to the rest of Bahia.A final note: to cross the river, you take a road in Sergipe to a toen called Pontal. There are several previous sports that offer crossing before you reach Pontal. Just be careful, as you need to embark to small boats and ussually need to walk through wooden piers, that may not receive propper maintenance, so staying away from rotten pieces of wood adds to the total attraction.

Local selvagem e Belo, onde desfilam personagens reais e fictícios. A Praia é simples e tranquila.
