Nice place with beautiful huge turtle. amazing work what these people are doing. You can see different kinds of turtles and sometimes there is a day when they let the turtles free and you can partcipate it on beach !

Tamar is a project sponsotred by Petrobrás and is spread all over Brazil´s coastline. In Florianoólis, one can see different species of turtles, some natural of Brazil and others from the Caribbean for instance. There´s a video at the beginning of the tour which is recommended that one sees so to fully appreciate the turtles they´ll see afterwards. Feeding is a very important event, it´s usually at 3:30 pm as they eat only once a day. It´s really and admirable conservation and research work. Worth seeing for everyone, speacially if you have kids a they´ll learn how much harm come to these animals from garbage left at the beaches.

It was a nice trip, but there isn't much to do there. Small, but nice place. Interesting and very informative. There is a very well done video explaining the projects and the you can go around and look at the turtles. You might want to plan to be there at the feeding times.

Tamar project deserves the visit for the great work in the protection of sea turtles. This is smaller than the one i visit in Fernando de Noronha, but is also very informative with good oportunities to see the turtles. Excelent place to take children.

Though Tamar is a pretty small place, it's definitely a great place for any nature or animal enthusiast. If you're a family with children, I highly recommend visiting the Tamar project.Tamar has several small pools with some pretty large sea turtles. There are also dozens of information boards that explain everything there is to know about sea turtles.Overall, entry is cheap, and it's definitely worth an hour's visit to learn a little more about sea turtles.

The site is good to inform people about the effect, actions of people have on see life in general and Turtles in particular. What I don't like about the site is they keep the different sorts of adult turtles, you'll find around the beaches of Brasil,, in small swimming pools. And you can see the turtles are stressed because of the way they behaveBut I guess they have to make this here to get people to visit.I liked more the Tortugeiro Project for turtles in Costa Rica where they give you a lot of information and show you around the beach, but they don't keep adult turtles captured

If you're in Floripa and have done everything already (walked along Beira Mar, Praca XV, Lagoa de Conceicao, sand boarding, etc), then this is a worthwhile endeavor. Tamar Project has multiple sites all over Brazil where they discuss and promote saving the various local turtle species. Don't expect anything super fancy though -- it's a pretty small place. You do get to see some pretty large turtles and learn about how to perform turtle CPR (no mouth-to-mouth necessary, I promise). At only $4 (8 reals) per entry, it's not too shabby. You'll spend 45 minutes there -- max!

This is one unique spot to be visited in Florianopolis. The Projeto Tamar supports research and preservation of the areas that s of Brazil that serve as birth place of new baby turtles. Without Tamar many of the eggs would be taken by man and many turtles would be hunted and killed as they are a easy target on land. They have some huge species in their visitors center, you will ecounter different tipes of turtles. The price is affordable and it is really good to know that the money goes to the preservation of this beautiful animals.

After hearing great reviews of this place and seeing advertisements everywhere, I became really excited about visiting here. I think perhaps a bit too excited, because it failed to meet my expectations. It's cute and a great for children, but small. I expected to spend an afternoon there, but i was in and out in about an hour or so.

Tamar is great! In Floripa they have a nice structure where you can see and interact with turtles and the biologists who take care of them. Children love it.

They have about 5 different pools with different species of turtles in them. You can get close to take good pictures but can't touch them. It cost 8 reals and probably you might spend 30 minutes there observing the turtles.
