We stayed here while in the city at an apartment. It is a drive through the city if you come in on the international airport, but worth it. There are shops, restaurants and bars nearby. Avenida Paulista is also close by which itself has lots to do. The neighborhood was quite at night and when the temperature went down was great for a stroll. It is a bit on the hilly side so coming back can be a bit of a workout.

It is like Zona Rosa or Hells Kitchen, if you know what I mean. Loads of restaurants and hotel. Nice to walk.

It's worth your time to throw away your fear of walking in Sao Paulo (many Americans are scared to do so, due to the horror stories in the news) and stroll through Jardins neighborhood. It's beautiful, with leafy trees, and lovely storefronts, restaurants, and parks. If you are aware of your surroundings, and are not an Ugly American, this is a wonderful way to get some exericse, enjoy the surroundings, hear some Portuguese (the most beautiful language in the world) and maybe discover something new. Otimo!

There are a lot of trees, nice shops and restaurants. All very expensive, but worth to walk around. Oscar Freire street is very famous and safe to walk and enjoy the environment.

If you want to dream about peaceful, easy life go here, try some restaurants, have a walk, do some shopping, drink caipirinha on a terrace while doing people watching and imagine that everything is all right.

Is a predominant residencial area, with stores and restaurants. You can walk in some specific streets like oscar freire, and see the stores. Most of the area is calm. If you are in São Paulo, and want to see the nice places jardins is the place.

It doesn't matter if you are going to Sao Paulo on business or leisure, Jardins is the place to stay. Several restaurants, interesting nightlife, cultural events around Avenida Paulista, everything within walking distance.

The Jardims area of Sao Paulo is a residential area with tree shaded streets. Much busier than it used to be but still a pleasant place for a walk.

Jardins- Folow up After reading others comments on the subject, I noticed that there is a lot of misinformation about the Jardins area! I was raised at the earth of the Jardins, at Rua Alaska and the true Jardins (América, Paulista , Paulistano and Europa) were originally developed by the City Co, with big lots, exclusively for one residence house in each, with a maximum of two floors. Due to the high value of the Jardins, adjacent areas tried, and some managed, to get a free ride on the denomination, like Vila Paulista, around R. Augusta and Pamplona, up from R. Estados Unidos, that was called Vila Paulista. But, although some of the olda residence houses are being used for commercial purposes, like most in Av Brasil, you still should not find a single high rise building or hotel in the true Jardins area and even restaurants are very few! Anything out of the perimeter between R. Estados Unidos, Av Brigadeiro Luiz Antônio, Av. Rebouças, R. Groenlândia, R. Rússia and R. Austria, doesn’t belong to the true and original Jardins!
