So when my boyfriend and I were driving in our golf cart around the island, the first attraction sign we saw was to "Cueva de Morgan." I thought- cool! A natural cave- we have to go! So we paid the $7USD or so to enter and it was the stupidest thing ever! It's basically people walking around in pirate outfits speaking Spanish and showing you some artificial man made caves! There is one small cave you walk though with a "pirate's" quarters at the end. This attraction is crowded, expensive, and not a real cave. If you want a natural, beautiful cave- then this is not for you!

The staff are all absolutely lovely and you are greeted by Captain Morgan himself. You are first lead to a 'replica' cave, which I suddenly realised would have a lot of things and people jumping out in the dark, so I managed to persuade the captain to let me by-pass this! You next enter a museum and the staff there really know their stuff! Very interesting. The next stop is a dance demo of the native dance. The dancers were very good, but when you're in a small room with your party of 4 with two girls dancing in front of you it is very awkward. They were good dancers though! I couldn't dance like them! After this is a number of replica boats....I didn't feel that these were really needed, but children may well like them. After this you finally reach the cave, which to me I think could stand alone without the gimmicks!Beautiful place and lovely staff :)

It's so weird that it's funny! There's a replica of the "real" Capt. Morgan ship made with plywood and paint in black. It's really funny! But the first part of the visit it's quite educative, you'll learn things about coconut and you'll see real pirate stuff like swords, flags and treasure chest. You'll pay $7 US each, but they don't get you spare change, you have to give the right amount...

so 15 mil pesos each is not terrible. i did like the history of the coconut and the history of the pirates and the eye patch. i learned some useless knowledge from it =) lets go trivia crack! the place is not as bad as the reviews say. we did it while we waited for our reservation in west view. they are both very close. i liked the cave. it is hot and muggy, but it does filter to the ocean and it is well hidden if not for the now tourist business. i find it interesting. the paintings no thx, the replica cave is ok but thats not the same one you see.

I still don't know exactly what this place is. I feel like it is just a tourist trap because there is very little to do on San Andres island. It purports to be a cove where Captain Morgan hid some treasure, but said 'cove' was just a hole in the ground with no evidence that Captain Morgan had ever hid anything there, ever. You pay like $15 just to get in, then they nickle and dime you every step of the way (you have to pay to use the rest room, then they ask you for donations to see the 'typical' dance, etc). The place is run down and just weird. Total waste of time.

Don't bother unless your idea of fun is a sweltering, mosquito ridden tourist trap. A hole in the ground filled with water with a dubious history, surrounded by souvenir shops. There's a decrepit mock pirate ship in terrible condition. A room of bad paintings of the island on sale and "museum" of bric-brac of little interest. Oh and did I mention the child labour? A young lad dancing as part of the "tour", Pictures of Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. Yawn. You get the picture.

The place is lacking service, the guides dont have much to say...they mechanically just point at the way but dont seem interested in the visitors and the cave is inacessible. The only part I found interesting was the handcrafts made of coconut and the art gallery.

This is more then just a cave - although the admission price is a bit high for what you get. If you are into seeing what's on the island give it a stop on your golf cart tour of the island.

The actual cave part of the tour was a disappointment. The tour has 5 different stops. The coconut museum and the pirates museum and interesting. Everything else I could take or leave. The cave is a dark hole (obviously) but it's the only part that doesn't have a tour guide explaining details about it. I would go only if you have extra time to spare and only for the coconut museum and pirates museum.

is not an exclusive experience. can say that one enjoyed and met the island without visiting the cave, which is just that, a cave

We went here as a part of the Chiva tour around the island. I felt that the entrance fee (COP$10,000) was way too much for what you get. The first guide (who introduced himself as Coco - who was in charge of telling us about the coconuts and coconut derived objects) was really good, but all the rest rushed through the explanations and we felt like all they wanted to do was get us out of there as quickly as possible. The buildings were made out of coral (which I found really interesting) but Captain Henry´s boat was falling apart and looked really tacky. The floorboards were sagging under my weight and I was sure that I was going to fall through the floor at any minute.Overall, not good value for money.

I have been here many times, it's one of thos ethings you have to do no matter how many times you do it. They have a cute show, people are very nice and friendly. Take pictures on the boat.

Yeah! There are some interesting points at this visiting site. But I really felt like I was in an amateur scam. The infrastructure around this tourist attraction was so weak that me and my girlfriend left the group we were in and took some photos of the interesting facts. So little to offer. It could have been so nice.

is just a cave nothing special and is kinda expensive the ticket in the entrance, they should add something more interesting...

Perhaps the place was beautiful back in Morgan's time, when there was no garbage or pollution... but when I visited it, Morgan's Cave was a hole with dark foul water inside and plastic cups floating on. Really. Around the foul-water-hole, they built some wanna-be-attractions to fool you around, but nothing worth neither your money nor your time. Skip it. Please.
