Magico y espiritual! Pero la fuerza espiritual que se siente es increible, que lugar mas bello!!!Magic , beautiful architecture, local people very friendly and kind, the best deserts and candies of Colombia!... what i liked most was the peace and quiet that you feel there... cold and fresh air... is amazing!

I enjoyed this site totally, the way to arrive is very well. don't forget stop in the viewpoint to take the best photos. For lunch I recommend "The chalet Guamuez" were you will find a very good "trucha", attractions for all ages and a boat to the island. In the harbor you can find good gastronomic plates and also a boat to the island. The island is a natural spotview of birds, very nice.

It was a fantastic experience, and very close to nature. I took two different water taxis in order to get to the island of Crota, it was a little cold, and windy, and scenery was inspiring, took amazing pictures of the lake, mountains, the church. On the way back I had dinner at a local restaurant, and ate the most delicious smoke trout, that I had ever had. I recommend going there if you are able to appreciate nature at its best.

Very close to Pasto town, it will take u no more than 40min to get there. There are two small places to have breakfast or lunch, we tried the "swiss Chalet". Is a charming little place.Make sure you are properly dressed: boots, windproof jacket it gets cold and rainy. Have a hot "agua panela" (alcohol-free) or a "hervido" (local alcohol beverage) to warm you up.Enjoy the landscape and make a little hike.

Great trip!!! You have to go to el puerto which is the little village where the magic starts. You´ll find the boats that will take you to the island of La corota where you can stop and walk through the protected flora and fauna area. THIS TRIP COST NO MORE THAN 25.000 PESOS OR 13 USD, NO MORE, and pay when the trip ends. In your walk up stairs ask about the HERVIDOS and have one to get warm. It is a drink made of fruit juice an a pinch of AGUARDIENTE. If you don´t like liquor just tell them and they will make a special one for you without it. When you go back to el puerto my best advice is to eat at REFUGIO DEL SOL and ask for TRUCHA ASADA (grilled trout) or the even better TRUCHA AHUMADA (smoked trout) and to dink another Hervido or Aguapanela!!!

This lake is worth a visit for the day, or stay in the 2 shore hotels. Not suitable for swimming (cold water) but fun for boat trips -there are many water taxis available at the 'Puerto'-.

We weren't planning on stopping here, but since we couldn't get north to Popayan due to protests blocking the highways, we checked it out. So glad we did! We're more little town people than big city folks, so the village was a nice place to wander around (not big, though, and mostly just restaurants selling trout - but oh, such good trout!). The boat ride was lovely, and the quick hike on the little island in the middle (a national park!) was fun. We considered going to one of the reserves nearby afterward and didn't, but I kind of wish we had.
