This is a Spanish Colonial Church . Seems very majestic on the outside but more humble on the interior but it has some very old religious items .Its diagonal to a great restaurant and in the old town .

Eglise au centre de la ville historique. Ouverte au moment des offices, intéressante. La place centrale est animée le jour, plus calme la nuit mais néanmoins sûre. Rappelle un peu celle de Sucre en Bolivie.

Die Kirche Santo Domingo (Iglesia Santo Domingo), stilgemischt und geweiht 1741, ist der Ausgangspunkt der Karfreitags-Prozession. Ich fand, dass dies die Kirche mit dem meisten Leben ist in Popayan.Bemerkenswert: Hier hängt die Preisliste aller kirchlichen „Dienstleistungen“ aus. Die teuerste ist eine gregorianische Messe für 700.000 Pesos (ca. 300 €).Die Kirche wurde 1983 nur leicht beschädigt.
