All kind of ships, around the beautiful bay, from parada uno you can walk two kilometers until Brava Beach, see both seas join.....

Loved the atmosphere. In March there are very few tourists. Today, I disliked the rain. But still it is worth visiting.

Inside the Punta del Este harbor, don't miss the sea lions being fed (or waiting to be fed), usually in the morning, the fish scraps and carcasses discarded by the local fishermen cleaning fish at the end of the pier. It is a fun spectacle! The harbor also gives some very interesting views of the small local fishing boats, docked right next to big fancy yachts.

This is definitely a place to visit if you are nearby. Our cruise ship stopped here and it was beautiful. Lovely harbour full of yachts. Lots of shopping and places to eat. We found everything to be very clean and the shop owners very friendly. We would have stayed here longer if we were able to.

The port in Punta del Este is one of the classics, particularly in summer. Don't miss the sea lions and sea gulas waiting for the fishrmen...

Spent a lovely day in this vacation resort town. It was crowded with summer getaway people from Buenos Aires, Montevideo, etc. The sandy beaches are lovely, the shopping and cafes are very well clean and friendly. The Conrad hotel stands out as a beautiful property right on the beach road. Casino on site, beautifully appointed lobby.

(Note: Reviews for this item seem to cover all kinds of aspects of Punta del Este, although the title is clearly about the harbor.) Punta del Este harbor offers a great walk if you like to watch boats and/or catch a nice sunset by the sea. Unlike many other harbors in the world the mooring docks can be accessed by the public at large so you can walk right up to all your favorite yachts and gawk. We recently went there with our young boys and they loved it. There are also a couple seafood restaurants inside the harbor, plus all kinds of restaurants and pubs right outside it. The best season for a walk in the harbor is the summer (December-February), both for quantity of docked boats and weather friendliness.

Five of us from the cruise ship decided to tour Punta del Este on our own. At the Port, we hired our own driver and his English speaking guide to visit the city's attractions. We each paid US$20 for this excursion, much cheaper than the US$85 which the cruise line was charging us. We spent more time at the Port when our excursion ended by walking around its neighborhood. Places we visited near the Port: Shops and restaurants at the city center. The Church and the lighthouse (included in our excursion) are near by and are within walking distance from the Port. A small fish market and restrooms are also at the Port. (Please see attached pictures).Much that we wanted to stay longer and enjoyed the view of the Port, we had to rush back to our tender to go back to our Cruise. The rain was heavy and the wind was strong. We all got soaked and wet but had fun in Punta del Este!

this place is boring and uninspiring. It maybe full of expensive homes but really it's nothing to write home about. 50% of homes are owned by Brazilians, 30% by Argentinians and the rest by Uruguay and other nationalities. The beach is full of people lying side by side to each other. But I guess that's how it works and they don't know the wonderful beaches of South Australia.

We were two couples and shared a cab from our cruise ship into town. The driver barely spoke English, but we had a list of where we wanted to go...and just by getting us to those place, we saw amazingly beautiful things. Glad it was not a beach day because otherwise we would have missed some really outstanding attractions. We are not deeply into art, but two museums are a must! And, on the way, you get to see the truly beautiful and unusual archtechture of Punte Del Este:1. The Ralli Museum should be first because of its location. BUT BE SURE OF THE HOURS...THEY CLOSE EARLY AFTERNOON AND DO NOT REPOPEN TILL 3 OR 4 PM2. THEN go definitely to the home of .Carlos Paez Vilar...driving there from the Ralli is a tour by itself. I did not want to go..the other couple did. So, we went. Wow. The artist has left his home as a museum. It is at the highest point on a cliff overlooking the sea.You can wander about and have tea at the top or not. I bought a print...there is so much incredible beauty in the natural setting that it is truly a great experience. On the way there, you pass one house more beautiful than the next. Punte Del Este is a seaside resort , but these two places and a small walk around are and were more than enough for us. The walkaround is good I imagine, but this can be done in many towns and this experience cannot be replaced.

Either on a sunny or a gray day, taking a walk among houndres of boats is something unique you can do in Punta del Este. You will see many different boats, from a tinny fishing local boat to a luxury mega yacht or sailboat. All five pears are open to the public so you can go everywhere either walking or riding a bycicle. At the en of each marina you´ll get to see the shore across the bay and feel like you are actually on a boat in the middle of the bay. Where the port water braker starts you´ll find a sea food (fast food) restaurant and a very nice restaurant, both with an amazing view of the bay and the "Gorritti Island". You will also find many local fishermen shops as well as many companies offering day trips to either Gorriti Island or Isla de Lobos. This is a one or twoo hours litlle tour that you must do!!

This was a port call on a cruise on the Azamara Journey. It's a very pleasant resort town for families from Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Very clean with lots of upscale shopping and restaurants. Take the suggested circle walk marked on the tourist map around the tip of the peninsula for a nice bit of exercise and pretty views. The little artisans marketplace has some interesting local crafts work. Others on our cruise visited the art museum and spoke well of that attraction.

Beautiful sunset during spring/summer time. There you can have an amazing view of Isla Gorriti and Mansa side of the Peninsula.
